Just got off the phone with the Ombudsman of @NJBPU to express my serious concerns about the storm response and ongoing restoration efforts.
I reminded him that many of our local elected officials lived through Superstorm Sandy, and it’s frustrating that so many of the hard lessons learned then seem to have been forgotten.
He agreed that a comprehensive post-storm review must take place with @JCP_L and Monmouth County’s elected officials, and assured me that local officials will have a seat at the table.
I also made it clear that New Jersey families deserve better. Customers have been hit with higher electric rates while receiving worse communication and customer service during one of the most challenging outages in recent memory. New Jersey ratepayers deserve accountability.
I am awaiting this morning’s update from JCP&L and anticipate another legislative briefing at 1:00 p.m. I remain in constant communication with the Governor’s Office, sharing what we are learning from our local officials and residents and continuing to press for answers and improvements.
I will continue providing updates as new information becomes available.

5 years later, commuters are still waiting for NJ Transit to fix escalators at busy Hamilton Station. And they've delayed the repairs again! https://t.co/mMW2q08TXe @nj1015
