I’m proud to be the first Afro-Latina in Congress. And in a political system riddled with the influence of big money, I’m unbought, unbossed, and committed to getting big money out of our politics.

That’s the movement we’re building. Join us: https://t.co/0aKBAfka7C.

Sixty-three years ago today, hundreds of thousands marched on Washington because they believed America could and must live up to its promise.

They marched for racial justice, voting rights, good jobs, fair wages, and economic dignity.

I started in politics as a concerned parent who wanted to make my community a better place for my kids. It was hard to know where to start, so I relied on trainings and workshops to learn the basics.

I would never have gone on to serve as a Councilman, Mayor, and now Assemblyman if not for those trainings. @NJWFP is offering those same resources to parents and community members so they can run for office and serve, just like I chose to do almost 20 years ago.

Honored to speak at a rally organized by students today! The message was clear that Tom Kean should stop taking money from Palantir which enables ICE deportation.

Young people are standing up, speaking out, and fighting for the representation we deserve. @NJWFP @MaketheRoadNJ
