Affordable Care Act Marketplace enrollment fell across the nation this year, according to an analysis released by KFF. The only state not to experience a decline was New Mexico, which replaced the expired federal enhanced premium tax credits with a state-funded subsidy.
The decline coincides with the expiration of the enhanced premium tax credits at the end of last year, and come after years of rapid growth.
Previously released KFF polling of 2025 Marketplace enrollees found three in 10 switched to different Marketplace plan this year, and one in 10 enrollees dropped coverage altogether.
State-based Marketplaces that run their own enrollment platforms, including those that partially offset the expired federal subsidies, generally saw lower drops in effectuated enrollment (an average 6% decline versus 15% for states that use the https://t.co/0dOXRO3Ilp platform).
