The Vijaynagar
Empire...!
The empire lasted for about 230 years and was controlled by four different dynasties; Sangama, Saluva, Tuluva, and Aravidu.
It's founders were Harihara and Bukka Raya, who shrugged off the Tughlaq yoke and declared their independence in 1336.
They ruled from modern Hampi, on the banks of Tungabhadra river.
Under Krishnadeva Raya, Vijaynagar was the second largest city of the world after Beijing, and it's influence was till north; even Babar mentions the king in his biography.
Vijaynagar
sufferred a devastating defeat at Talikota (1565), leading to it's eventual demise.
By 1646, the empire was in name only; when it's last ruler was deposed.
