The days of relegating elders and seniors to the trash heap are OVER @NYCMayor
Overall, there are now 1,373,495 people ages 65 and over. The number of older adults increased by at least 32 percent in every borough during the last decade

Some coverage of our recent action with Citi-Urban tenants at 131 Avenue A. @voteshekar & @JenGutierrezNYC sponsor a bill to help all displaced tenants facing emergency vacate orders, "such as those recently forced to vacate 10 Fifth Ave. and 642 E. 14th St."
"A bill to let Rochester establish a public bank is under serious consideration in the final weeks of NY's state legislative session. It would be the first created in the U.S. since the Bank of North Dakota was founded in 1919." -@POLITICOPro
Let's get it done this session!🙌
BREAKING: President Biden signed an executive order for a $200 million investment to boost women's health research. This is a significant step to rebuff Republican attacks on women’s healthcare.
From upstate to downstate, the rent is too damn high.
Meanwhile state leaders are dragging their feet on taking action. We needed #GoodCause yesterday.
BREAKING: After slurring his words twice this afternoon, Donald Trump once again forgot who is currently President. Retweet to ensure no one can ignore Trump’s clear cognitive decline.
Nearly 153,000 people woke up to life-changing news this morning: their student loan balance is now $0, thanks to the SAVE Plan.
The Biden-Harris administration has delivered student debt relief to almost 4 million Americans. And more help is on the way.

Absolutely not! Before 2019, thousands of long-term residents were pushed out of Crown Heights by the vacancy bonus. Reintroducing this loophole cannot be part of any housing legislation that my colleagues and I pass.
With so few apts available, landlords are price gouging tenants, taking advantage of their desperation.
Strengthening and expanding rent stabilization + passing universal #GoodCause Evictions is the best way to combat rampant rent gouging + evictions https://t.co/3RQz8oqPn3
The vast majority of rental housing in NYS is fully unregulated - tenants have no protections against evictions whatsoever. We can’t only build: we need statewide good cause to keep people in their homes.
Effective this morning at 0900hrs, NYC will reduce staffing on all 5th man Fire Engines. This is extremely dangerous. At a point where fire deaths are up & NYC is experiencing fast moving Lithium Ion fires, the Door Firefighter position is instrumental in getting a hose line in place quick. Home furnishings these days are made up of material that burns hotter & faster than legacy furniture, getting water on the fire as quickly as possible is a game changer in saving life & property. All Fire Engines should have the 5th firefighter but now none in the #FDNY will.

LLCs protect slum landlords who force us to live with mold, lead paint, massive rent hikes, and more.

Fourteen years ago, when the big three automakers were struggling to stay afloat, my administration and the American people stepped in to support them. So did the auto workers in the UAW who sacrificed pay and benefits to help get the companies back on their feet. Now that our carmakers are enjoying robust profits, it’s time to do right by those same workers so the industry can emerge more united and competitive than ever.
Imagine what it’d be like if this level of political intensity and energy was directed at things that actually helped people. We’d have a 4 day work week by now
This effectiveness of the South Korean system has made it a model case study for government officials in other countries, many of whom reach out to their counterparts in Seoul for advice.
