Churchgate - Virar - 83 kms - 1 hour 30 mins
CST - Kalyan - 60 kms - 57 mins
CST - Panvel - 47 kms - 1 hour 33 mins
The airport and panvel terminus are getting ready in the next few years, for them to be successful the harbour line capacity needs to be augmented in a huge way.
Major failures daily in the harbour line with no plan for any capacity addition or alternative mass transit. With the airport incoming and loads of mass housing projects, it is an urgent need to plan a fast line and other metro connectivity between NM and rest of MMR.
Instead just mandate them to use sewage treated water especially in urban areas where we are dumping god awful amounts of barely treated sewage into rivers and seas
All this debate about water requirement for data centres and how it will drain the ground water dry, my only question is, why do we even need to use ground water for data center cooling?
Why can't we place them along the coast and then use deslainated sea water?
It's not as if we are running out of the sea
Fact that neither airport in Mumbai has hi-frequency dedicated AC buses like Vayu Vajra in Bangalore is really shameful. Even an AC bus service every 15 mins from NMIA to Sewri will do the job.
This is 🎶 for so many
"The first and foremost aim for BEST’s revival is to increase the fleet size… " @AshwiniBhide
Perhaps for the first time, we have a @mybmc Commissioner, who recently built @MumbaiMetro3 and now also is head of @myBESTBus, acknowledging Mumbai needs 10,000 buses.
We need bus manufacturers to step up to increase production of modern, low floor, AC, buses of all sizes - 12m, 9m and 7m. This should be a national priority to meet the demands for more buses in all our cities.

I’ve said it so many times. We need a RRTS between CSMIA and NMIA. We need a RRTS between Dahanu and Dahisar. Enough of this 40kmph metro bullshit for such long distances.
@drifteternal_ Also they have shat the bed in planning arrivals, like t2. Confusing to get to taxi area, it's there in multiple floors. 250 charge for taxi.
Bus connectivity is very poor.
Until line 8 comes people are going to be unhappy using this especially if not living in navi mumbai
Not true. They said to preserve these wetlands to ensure they are not pushed into the flight path.
In fact adani is trying to use the airport to convert these wetlands into a golf course next to his residential project using the airport/bird hits as a reason.
Activists had opposed Navi Mumbai airport for years, claiming that the flamingos won’t come
Guessing they came in hordes to do some plane-spotting instead🦩🛫
Yes we have lost hope. From November 2024 I have sent 9 emails to @myBESTBus asking to consider CNG/Diesel buses as alternative due to slow delivery of e buses. Nothing has happened on it. @AshwiniBhide@Dev_Fadnavis@kdhavse@NidhiKamdarMH
To conserve fuel, instead of pushing destructive ideas like online schooling, the govt needs to go for a JNNURM type push in the easiest rampable public transport, BUSES. And not just EV, all types.
Flood cities with buses and THEN enforce strict restrictions on pvt transport
@akshaywcam1 EV buses mfg barely able to touch 600 per month. To fix the shortfall in buses we need to go in a hybrid model of diesel cng and ev.
We can manufacture around 10-15k ICE buses per month.
Even a diesel BS4 bus will be less polluting per capita compared to using pvt transport.
