No power. No clean water. No safe way to cook.
In Gaza, the energy crisis is more than a blackout—it’s a breakdown of daily life.

Pleasure to have met HE Dr Cathrine Lofthus, Secretary General, Ministry of Health and Care Services of Norway. You continue to make important contributions to the health of women and girls as a major advocate of maternal and reproductive health globally. We appreciate your continued support to this cause, particularly in conflict-affected areas where they remain vulnerable and at high risk.
We have been enjoying our partnership with @NORCAPweb@NRC_Norway in developing the All-Hazard Information Management (AIM) Toolkit, which uses artificial intelligence in support of our emergency preparedness and response.
Looking forward to continue our collaboration with 🇳🇴 to strengthen regional health security and building resilient health systems.
sammen for en sunnere fremtid.

Yes, it is time to outsmart outbreaks. Proud to partner with @WHOEMRO on the Gen AI-powered AIM Toolkit—boosting global health emergency response.
We look forward to further enhancing this effort with WHO and the @gatesfoundation.

Thanks to the @gatesfoundation for organizing the timely side event on "Outsmarting Outbreaks" where we discussed innovation, integration and investment on the sidelines of #WHA78.
Decades of progress have dramatically reduced the prevalence of cholera, measles and polio – and we are within striking distance of eradicating polio. Yet today, we are confronted by recurrent outbreaks, fragile health systems, widening health inequities, funding shortfalls, and persistent gender-related barriers that threaten to reverse hard-won gains.
It's time to invest in technology to outsmart and outpace these challenges!
I was delighted to share a recent innovation by @WHOEMRO supported by CORCAP @NRC_Norway. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), the "All-Hazard Information Management (AIM)" Toolkit draws on WHO’s global guidance to produce fast, locally adapted emergency preparedness and response tools, cutting preparation time from weeks to just hours.

On #WorldRefugeeDay, we honour all those who have had to flee their homes, and the hosting communities that welcome them into their homes. Here are some messages from Ukrainian refugees in Moldova, and their hopes for #OneDay.
Ludmila, Ludmila, Igor and Snejana were all forced to flee their homes in Ukraine and become refugees in neighbouring Moldova.
Here are their messages of hope for #OneDay 🧡
Norwegian NGOs active in Gaza & the West Bank expressed today our full support for @UNLazzarini and @UNRWA, which remain under politically-motivated & extremist attacks.
There is no substitute for UNRWA in their essential support for the besieged civilian population in Gaza.
A record 117 million lives have been uprooted because of conflict or violence.
What happened last year that led to this global increase in displacement?

Taking care of the environment is key to ensuring healthy communities in humanitarian crises and disaster-affected areas. Good collaboration between our experts and NRC colleagues!
Today is World Environment Day 🌍🌲
With support from @eu_echo, we are working with @NORCAPweb to ensure the environment is a priority wherever we, and our fellow humanitarians, operate.
Dis-, mis-, and malinformation create an increasingly difficult environment for #UNPeacekeeping. 61% of UNPKO personnel report that it impacts their safety. Yesterday we hosted a presentation of a new report from @NORCAPweb:
The Effectiveness of UN Peacekeeping Operations | NRC
Today NRC publishes our Neglected Crisis Report, documenting the most ignored displacement crises.
The neglect of millions in many protracted crises is a new normal.
Increasing numbers of people are forced to flee with dwindling attention, aid & hope.

🚨 Conflicts drive a new record of internally displaced people.
At the end of 2023, 75.9 million people were living in #internaldisplacement according to @IDMC_Geneva's #GRID2024. Over the past five years, the number has increased by half.
"This is not an isolated challenge, but affects the whole aid sector - not only peacekeeping, but also humanitarian & development work. We have to stand together against the threat of information pollution in the AI era," says @NORCAPBenedicte.
“We have to think of how misinformation and disinformation spread to neighbouring countries, and what we're doing to inform and counter these issues here, especially in diaspora communities,” says @DrATchie, @NUPInytt Our new report➡️https://t.co/mJMuNOIN5C
“This is a timely report. We must strive to reduce tensions locally, regionally and nationally, as they all contribute to fuelling misinformation, disinformation, malinformation and hate speech”, says Anne Kjersti Frøholm (left) @NorwayMFA of our report: https://t.co/mJMuNOIN5C
“The information pollution is like wildfire, and we have to mitigate its impact. We need more support for the peacekeeping missions from UN headquarters and member states”, says NORCAP expert, Dr Lotte Vermeij about report w/@DrATchie➡️https://t.co/mJMuNOIN5C #EPON
