The NOR-KLEB-NET/KLEB-GAP annual meeting is happening this week @solastrandhotel. Hans Geir Eiken presented their study on ARGs in the Norwegian environment - including soil, slugs mice & plants. Check out the paper:

@solastrandhotel Which bacteria and ARGs are found in people and what ends up in the environment (and back to people...)? Yngvild Wasteson & Nachiket Marathe presented fascinating studies of AMR in wastewater

🆕 Antimicrobial resistance poses an important global health challenge in the 21st century.
A new in-depth global analysis suggests more than 39 million deaths from antibiotic-resistant infections could occur between now & 2050.

Excited to share this preprint where we’ve used genomic analysis of >3000 genomes to study Klebsiella pneumoniae in a One Health perspective 🦠🔬👩💻#OneHealth#KLEBGAP#KlebClub@IrenLohr @DrKatHolt @NORKLEBNET
(1/6) Our new short preprint, led by @helena_bethanyy and myself on incidental bacterial domestication between patient isolation and creation of frozen stock. Geno/phenotype changes are obscured by rich media and more prevalent than we previously thought

Our new preprint where we sailed the seven seas of the #Klebsiella pneumoniae species complex 🏴☠️ and have charted you an atlas of our travels!
We present a population metabolism study of 7835 genomes + metabolic models, in vitro validation and co-cultures.

We are running a massive online open course on AMR databases starting end of the month. Its completely free, study at your own pace and its ~15 hours overall over the 3 weeks (although you can finish any time in a year). Please spread in your networks! https://t.co/n6LU8VDeTw
Our study highlights the importance of infection prevention in human clinical settings. However, reducing transmission that leads to colonisation - e.g. from direct contact with animals or via the food chain - could also play an important role in reducing the KpSC disease burden.
Congratulations to double doctor @KenLindstedt who successfully defended his PhD last week! 🎉 🎓 Check out his publications and thesis here: https://t.co/BWJLpr1mwV
On June 4, the research network AMR BRIDGE will present the results of four years of research, including work on new antibiotics and diagnostics to combat the silent pandemic of antibiotic resistance

🌟 Highlights from CAMRIA’s 2024 Annual Meeting! 🌟 Young researchers shone brightly, presenting cutting-edge AMR projects, and engaging discussions on communication and collaboration took center stage. Dive into the full recap here: https://t.co/yVLr3VKybW #AMR
Postdoc position available in the lab - Genomic taxonomy and outbreak genomics of bacterial pathogens - please apply as soon as possible if you think you have the right expertise! https://t.co/AUug2p8lqK
Congratulations to the CAMRIA Young Researcher Grand Prix winners at Solstrand! Great presentations and a big thank you to the evaluation committee for their invaluable feedback. #ResearchExcellence#CAMRIAGrandPrix
Can we find factors associated with Klebsiella colonization in the gut? Kenneth Lindstedt from @UiTNorgesarktis presents an in depth work looking into the lengths and dynamics of this, finding interesting correlations between colonization & the #microbiome#NordicAMRConference
Continuing with @genomarit and her #OneHealth work looking into the ecology and genomics of a big dataset of Klebsiellas from human, animal and marine samples.
An exploration of diversity, spill-over and adaptation across niches.
