BREAKING: In a stunning rebuke of Donald Trump, Republican Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, just made it clear that President Biden and Vice President Harris have been incredibly helpful as Georgia fights against Hurricane Helene
BREAKING: In a stunningly senile moment, Donald Trump forgets that Tim Walz is running for Vice President, and that he isn’t currently the Vice President. It’s clear Donald Trump is too old to run for President. Retweet so all Americans see this.
When I cast my vote for President Biden, I wasn't expecting much. I just wanted trump out of office.
I knew he was old.
I knew he had a stutter.
I knew he had a rep for "gaffes."
I didn't care. Just wanted trump gone.
Four years later, things are different.
I wasn't expecting that President Biden would be the most legislatively successful President in my lifetime.
I wasn't expecting him to help expand NATO.
I wasn't expecting him to lower insulin & inhalers.
I wasn't expecting him to create & recover 15m jobs.
I wasn't expecting him to bring manufacturing back.
I wasn't expecting him to forgive student debt.
But he did ALL those things, and more.
He surpassed my expectations by a lot.
And he has more planned for 2025-2028.
He's not a master orator,
He doesn't move so smoothly
But neither did FDR from his wheelchair.
Meanwhile, trump is STILL a threat.
He wants to be a dictator.
He wants to stay out of prison.
He wants revenge on his enemies.
He wants to take away from the poor and middle class and give to the ultra wealthy.
His Project 2025 will enable a national abortion ban to criminalize women seeking safe and legal abortions.
His Project 2025 will take away the rights of our LGBTQ family and friends.
His Project 2025 will transform the government into a loyalty pledge, not to America but to him ALONE.
We might never have another free election.
THAT is what is at stake in this election.
We can continue to progress with Biden policies, or we can let trump destroy democracy as we know it.
If you're looking for someone who's young and athletic, go watch a fucking movie.
I'll take the old guy who needs a nap while saving democracy over the old guy trying to overthrow democracy who needs a legal team.
Once a 3-10 team that played a challenging early schedule. I told them they would look back at this moment and understand why we challenged them. We focus on process and playing our best softball in the month of May. It ain’t how you start, it’s how you finish.
Thanks to Republicans @TerryBranstad and @IAGovernor, Iowa ranks last in the nation for number of available in-patient psychiatric beds.
@KimReynolds is taking Iowa down to the bottom one failure at after another.

This is Sharon, my mother-in-law.
She taught me it’s important work to see someone for who they are and not what you expect.
When my wife got leukemia at 30, when our world was shattered and changed forever, Sharon very quietly and very firmly stepped into the role she was born for. She moved, with her dependent Vietnam vet husband, into our house and became Michele’s caretaker too.
When I first met my mother-in-law I had a hard time understanding her thick south Virginia accent. And she seemed a little bossy in that southern passive aggressive polite way. But I knew she was important to the love of my life, so I accepted her grudgingly as some of us do when family is forced on us.
After 5 years I still didn’t really know her.
Over the last two years she bought most of the groceries, cooked almost every meal, did most of the laundry and cleaning, drove both dependents to almost every one of the 300+ doctor appointments, sorted tens of thousands of pills, and made sure they were all taken on time at every hour every day.
And she did this when she herself was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago. When she was getting a mastectomy. When she is going through chemo.
She hums when she works. She talks to herself when there’s no one to listen, and she goes about every day with humility and grace.
I took this photo before I left work this morning. She didn’t know I was there.
This, friends, is what greatness looks like in a quiet moment. Waiting on oatmeal to cook for her daughter for the 300th time since she got sick.
Not everyone gets to have a real-world superhero in their lives. And for this I am filled with gratitude every day.

As a parent I’m not worried that my 9 and 13 year olds are going to be “indoctrinated” with “wokeness” at school.
I’m not worried that they’re going to ‘feel guilty about their whiteness’ because they’re learning accurate history.
I’m not worried that they’re going to be “groomed” to become furries and to make their pees pees in litter boxes.
Those things aren’t real.
Wanna know what is real?
My worry that they’re going to get shot. That someone with an AR-15 is going to go into their school and shoot them.
So, while the same gun fetishizing, AR-15 lapel pin wearing, locked and loaded family Christmas card posing Republicans fear monger & manufacture crises under the guise of “parents rights”, I say this:
It is my right as a parent to send my kids to school without worrying that they will get shot.
It ain’t the drag queens, the African American history, the books with two moms or two seahorse dads which threaten our kids.
It’s the fucking guns.
