Scotland's education secretary has decided to scrap funding for the National Parent Forum of Scotland and instead back a rival group.

A spokesperson said that the Scottish Government is "committed to strengthening parental engagement".

On May 14, the NPFS received a notice from the Scottish Government explaining that we will no longer receive the funding which underpins our work to elevate the voices of parents and carers to national conversations.
We were not consulted, and find this decision utterly shocking.
