@IdiotsAssembled Went to see it with my family this evening. All the cinema laughing together. Such a joyous experience. We all loved it 🥰

@RealMattKing @bbcdoctorwho I mean if thats what you aspire to then ok, but you are so much better than that. Think Jason Bourne in the style of Withnail. That is a franchise I think you should aspire to anyway. But don't listen to me i'm drunk.

[MATT KING @RealMattKing]

Let me make this perfectly clear. I want to be the next Doctor Who. I should be the next Doctor Who. I'd make that beloved character loved by kids and adults alike all over again. Retweet to make me the next Doctor Who. @bbcdoctorwho

"Feargal Sharkey: Burnham’s water plan won’t fix the sewage crisis."

The problem with the water industry is ownership, fix that you fix the issue. Anything else, is irrelevant.

Do you get a pay increase when you've failed to do your job? Private water company bosses do.

Claire Young is right - we should be holding the top brass to account. But we should go further. Fine the companies into oblivion, and take them into public ownership. No excuses, no delays.

Four years ago, everything started from here when women of Saghez the city of Jina removed their headscarves in protest against the murder of Mahsa Amini by Hijab Police.

Instead of mourning, they turned Mahsa’s name into our code word for resistance.

Hi. 😊 Swedish dude here

If you get diabetes and need insulin,
in Sweden it costs you nothing.

Zero.
By law.

Not a coupon. Not a charity program.
The state pays.

Same for the tools that keep you alive. Pumps. Sensors. Needles. Test strips.

Prescribed by a doctor.
Handed over by the state.

You do not ration your dose because the bill is scary. You do not skip a sensor because rent is due.

Sweden has one of the highest rates of type 1 diabetes in the world.

So we decided the treatment should not be a luxury. The society pays.

The person who got sick does not.

In 90% of the countries in the world, water is in public ownership. In Paris the bills are a third lower than they are for Yorkshire water customers.

The privitisation of the Thatchers years has been a disastrous failure - it's time we ended it and brought water into public hands.

[Linus ✦ Ekenstam @LinusEkenstam]

Hi. 😊 Swedish dude here.

When our children get sick, we have 60 paid days per year to stay home with them.

Per parent.

They're separate from my 25 paid vacation days.

Meaning I don't have to use my own paid sick leave.

If I'm a single parent: 120 days.
If my child has a chronic illness: 120 days
If my child is hospitalized: unlimited days.

These days reset every January.
By law. every year until child is 18.

Neoliberals demanding tax cuts for the super rich want to abolish the state pension triple-lock.

Full state pension is less than 50% of the minimum wage.

2m pensioners live in poverty. 110,000 a year die in fuel poverty.

How many more will die?

"Thames Water will have incurred almost £2bn in financing costs and advisory fees over the 18 months to the end of September".

So here's what it's come to, it's now being demanded, not asked but demanded, that Thames Water's customers are being forced to fund their continued exploitation and abuse at the hands of American vulture capitalists.

What a world. Time to put an end to it, time to put Thames Water and its customers out of their misery.

This is Lord Rothermere.

He is a billionaire who owns the Daily mail. He lives and works in Britain, but opts out of paying tax in Britain.

He is so patriotic he has avoided paying millions and millions (perhaps hundreds of millions) in tax by being a ‘non dom’ despite living here.

No wonder he’s scared of the Green party who want to tax the rich.

Here’s a sentence that should shock anyone who still thinks the Islamic Republic has a justice system.

Arghavan Fallahi is 24 years old. She is sitting in Evin Prison under a death sentence.

She formally asked the judiciary to reopen her case and spare her life.

Today, reports say that request was rejected. Which means she can now be executed at any moment. It just brakes my heart that she did everything to save her life.

And this is the part where the Islamic Republic wants the world to look away and say, “Well, it’s an internal legal matter.”

No. It isn’t.

When a 24-year-old woman can be sentenced to death after a political prosecution, and the same system that arrested her, interrogated her, tried her and condemned her also gets to decide whether she deserves another hearing, that is not justice.

That is the government acting as police, prosecutor, judge and executioner and then calling the whole thing due process.

I wrote about Arghavan before because I did not want the world to learn her name after she was hanged.

She is alive right now. And this is exactly when governments, journalists and human-rights organizations should speak before the execution, not after the obituary.

Stop the execution of Arghavan Fallahi.

Another example of a private monopoly failing us - National Grid have been making an average £5 billion a year for the last five years - while failing to invest what’s needed to keep our grid up to scratch - we pay the annual £2 billion cost of that failure, while they pocket £5 billion. And it could be £8 Billion a year by 2030. It’s another outrageous failure of Thatcher’s Dogma - Privatisation. We need to take National Grid under control, not ownership - and force it to do the job we need, not the job its shareholders would prefer.

8 months ago, the Islamic regime cut off the internet and massacred tens of thousands of Iranians simply for demanding freedom, and the world let that happen.

Never forget.
