The @cityofbarrie and @simcoecounty are lying. I have been supporting residents and none have been offered motel vouchers and willingly accept of of shelter bed at shelter that is over capacity and unable to meet their unique needs. The City will have to prove 1/2
A new petition has been started asking that the District place a formal hold on the commitment of funding the MAHC new build project until we get 2 full functioning acute care hospitals. Here's a list of location where you can add your name:

More daunting healthcare numbers:
• record 107,000 patients waiting longer than max clinical guidelines for surgeries
• surgical wait times: 49% longer than 2019
• 22% increase in hallway healthcare
• nursing vacancy rate more than double what it was when Ford gov't elected
Ontario healthcare unions share stark numbers:
• 2,096 people died on waiting lists for surgeries in 2022-2023, up almost 50% from year before
• 9,400 patients died waiting for MRI & CT scans
• currently 37,000 vacancies in hospitals “we have nowhere near the capacity we need”
As Kellog's CEO says people should eat cereal for dinner if they can't afford groceries, our new @CntrFutureWork report shows food processors' profits in 🇨🇦 (including Kellog's!) surged 35% in 2023, adding significantly to food prices. https://t.co/43zQhrWzR3 #cdnecon#canlab /2
Not sure there's a better way to show how @fordnation views Ontario's health care system than this:
Publicly-funded operating rooms are empty and being used for storage while Ford instead pumps public funds into private, for-profit clinics🤦♀️ #onpoli

Lowering the qualifications to become a teacher will NOT fix the growing #nsed shortage.

#BREAKING - The Ford government says it will *not* appeal today’s court ruling that upheld bill 124 as unconstitutional. The government says it will now “Take steps to repeal Bill 124 in its entirety in the coming weeks.”
Workers’ victory against Ford is ‘only the beginning’ says OPSEU/SEFPO President @JPHornick after Ford's Bill 124 deemed unconstitutional, once again, by the Court. https://t.co/YQQ35ITJjk
This afternoon we received the decision of Arbitrator W. Kaplan setting out the wage increase that will apply as Bill 124 remedy for 2021-22 school year. Arb. Kaplan awarded a wage increase for that year of 2.75%, which is in addition to the 1% increase already given that year.

Here is the full, unedited speech from @nenshi today in #YYC.
He openly condemns Smith's new anti-trans policies and calls her out personally.
This is a speech the likes of which Alberta hasn't seen in quite a while.

.@ABDanielleSmith wants to “depoliticize the issue”. The company she's kept tells a very different story. What world do conservatives want by targeting the vulnerable?
Young people have the right to be who they are. I stand with them, their Prime Minister stands with them. ⬇️
“Last year, the average price for a bachelor apartment in #TOpoli was $1,892 per month. A person needs to earn at least $76,000/yr to comfortably afford the lease.” 😡 That’s 2.5 times the wages of a full-time, minimum wage job.

Absolutely outrageous: “Some pharmacare policy experts are raising concerns … after Manulife Financial Corp. announced its coverage of certain prescription drugs will only apply at Loblaw Cos. Ltd. pharmacies.”
