I am so proud to reveal the @NEStatePatrol America 250 commemorative challenge coin, honoring our nation’s 250th Anniversary and reflecting the values that guide our mission each day, Pro Bono Publico.
This coin proudly features Nebraska’s @America250 logo with the red and blue Nebraska State Patrol logo.
This keepsake honors both our nation’s milestone and the service of those who continue to proudly protect and serve Nebraska. 🇺🇸
Heads up for travelers in western Nebraska.
I-80 is currently closed between Ogallala and Big Springs because of a crash. That’s mile marker 126-107 in both directions.
A career of over 30 years as a Trooper! Help us congratulate Major Jeff Wilcynski #285 on his retirement!
Between Major Wilcynski, his dad, and his grandpa, this family has been a part of the Nebraska State Patrol since 1950! #LifeOfService#FamilyOfService
Congrats, 285!
Amazing work today by Troopers and K9 Gable, who sniffed out 525 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on I-80. The nose knows.

Riding season is here & it’s a good time to remind everyone to look twice for bikes. Motorcycles are easier to see when you’re NOT distracted!!
If you ride, you can’t blame someone in a car for not seeing you if you’re riding too fast, unsafe, or are creating the hazards.
For the last 250 years, Americans have answered the call to serve and defend our great nation.
Today, we remember and honor all the brave women and men who lost their lives in service to our country.
America is the home of the free because of the brave.
Today, and always, we honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who gave their lives in defense of our nation. Their courage and selfless service secured freedoms we must never take for granted.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
Memorial Day is here! While today may include barbecues, road trips, and trips to the lake, it also marks the start of the “100 Deadliest Days” for teen drivers.
Before teens hit the road this summer, talk with them about safe driving habits. One safe decision can save a life.
They gave everything in service to our country and generations of Americans. Some recent, others of the distant past. All heroes.
On Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifice made by our nation’s heroes over our 250 years. May their names and memory live forever.
If you're planning to drink this Memorial Day weekend, plan a sober ride home:
🔴Call a taxi
🔴Schedule a rideshare
🔴Call a sober friend to bring you home
Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving.
Memorial Day Weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year.
Troopers are working overtime across the state to help keep roads safe. Slow down and help keep other travelers safe!
Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year. If your plans include celebrating with friends and family, make sure getting home safely is part of the plan too.
Remember to:
• Wear your seat belt
• Keep the phone down
• Plan a sober ride home
Thankful the driver, our Trooper and loyal K-9 partner weren’t injured.
This is yet another strong reminder:
🚨avoid distractions,
🚨pay attention,
🚨yield to 🚔,
🚨buckle up,
🚨phone down,
🚨slow down.
This week — and every week — let’s give EMS crews a hand. 🚑⚠️ Slow Down or Move Over for all flashing lights and give them room to work on the roadside.
Protect the people who protect you.
Heads Up - storms are popping up to our south. There is potential these storms could push north to the southern end of the county.
Be very weather aware for the next several hours and ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings!
Today we join the nation in observing Peace Officers Memorial Day.
May we never forget the sacrifice of those who stood between us and danger to keep our roads and neighborhoods safe. 🕊️
NDOT HSO has awarded funding to 43 law enforcement agencies across the state for the Make It Click seat belt enforcement campaign. From May 15-31, officers will conduct high-visibility enforcement to help increase seat belt use and reduce crashes on Nebraska roadways.
