Minister of State @YvanButera visited Rwanda Charity Eye Hospital in Bishenyi, a key center for specialized eye care and training in Rwanda.

With its high patient volume and more than 9,000 eye surgeries performed annually, the hospital is one of Rwanda’s leading training sites for ophthalmology residency, offering hands-on experience and specialist mentorship, while delivering eye care at scale. The Minister also met with doctors training to become eye specialists — to discuss their education and training.

Important step forward for Rwanda’s nuclear energy plans.

Together with @RwandaInfra’s @Dr_JimmyGasore, signed an @IAEAorg/@RwandaGov agreement to strengthen cooperation on integrating nuclear energy into Rwanda’s energy mix, including SMRs.

The agreement covers support on energy planning, infrastructure development, training, stakeholder engagement, financing and capacity building as 🇷🇼 moves forward with its plans.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko and Rwandan Health Minister Sabin Nsanzimana held a meeting on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly.

📋 During the event, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding between the Russian Ministry of Health and the Rwandan Ministry of Health.

The countries intend to cooperate in the following areas:

▫️ Strengthening healthcare systems;
▫️ Professional development of healthcare workers;
▫️ Prevention, medical rehabilitation, diagnosis, and treatment of non-communicable and infectious diseases;
▫️ State regulation of the circulation of medicines and medical devices;
▫️ Medical research;
▫️ Maternal and child health, including measures to reduce child and infant mortality;
▫️ Nuclear medicine and others.
