Crazy that during the referendum to disaffiliate UoM from the NUS, myself and another activist got 'leaked' information suggesting Shaima was sacked for making homophobic remarks....
The NUS facilitated and enabled these attacks against her whilst allowing certain narratives to build up around her removal. These narratives will now be challenged
... Their disdain for leftwing and Muslim activists is clear. We wholeheartedly condemn their attempts to tear down the activists trying make student spaces safer and more democratic for all
