Auburn is 14-12 has lost 5 straight and is projected as a 9 seed in NCAA Tournament.
Miami (Oh) is 26-0 projected as an 11 and would probably be out with a loss.
This is nonsense.
COLUMN: Greg Sankey questioned the competitiveness of small-conference AQ’s. Then the SEC flopped and lost to AQ’s Oakland and Yale.
Because that’s March Madness.
Expansion talk is about greed and nothing more. https://t.co/BClOxuuhm2

Virginia has missed 19 consecutive shots and scored 14 points (we’re in the second half) and I was told this week we need to expand this tournament because there too many good teams.
YES, the NCAA Tournament should be expanded and here's how they should do it.👇
1) Start in October and include 362 teams across 32 conferences
2) Each team plays 30-31 games against others in the 362 team field
3) After those games, each conference plays it's own tournament - the winner gets a spot in the knockout round
4) After the 32 winners, the NCAA picks the best 36 remaining teams for the knockout round
5) Play a single elimination 68 team tournament to determine the winner
Column: As if the Wednesday power grab for guaranteed CFP bids weren’t enough, now the Big Ten and SEC want guaranteed byes. Obnoxious gluttony.

A sitting head coach in a new situation:
Bad day for college basketball. Beyond the obvious miss on this, the bigger concern is that there are people in decision making roles that believed this was good for the game. Those same decision makers will be shaping college basketball
The ACC adding SMU/Cal/Stanford probably makes it worse in football. It DEFINITELY makes it worse in basketball.
What a regrettable place college sports has ended up at.
So: How will basketball be affected? Here's an initial peek into the future. Column:

Arizona may bolt for the B12? The B10 is scouting UO and UW to join UCLA and USC? SDSU may bolt the MWC? FSU openly talking about leaving the ACC? Yet, we still entertain coaches, ADs and legislators complain about the transfer portal ruining college sports? Seriously?
Conference realignment is the most American thing I can think of. Whittling away at all of the quirky, unique things that make something special and popular so that every last dollar can be squeezed out of a homogenized, board room-approved product to keep a bunch of stiff, corporate suits happy when revenue projections are shown.
