Birding in Bryant Park this morning, and I think we helped @_RobFloyd see his first Timberdoodle! Hi!! Nice to meet you this morning. :-P
Truly my favorite part of birding in NYC are the interesting people who stop by when they see a group of people staring in to the shrubbery
Please view Flaco from a distance and stay quiet around him at all times. If you choose to see him at night, please keep in mind that it takes skill, experience and quality binos to sight an owl at night. Remember to turn off your camera flash! (10/11)
Interestingly, Flaco is used to people and rests well during the day—when rescue attempts were not made anyway. So daytime viewing is perhaps fine. But I still don’t like to see people crowding around a sleeping owl all day long. I suggest keeping daytime visits brief. (9/11)
So… I’m launching a print shop. I just got my proofs back and they’re stunning. Can’t wait to get these into people’s hands!
10% of proceeds from all bird images will be donated to @wildbirdfund :-)

@donnerpartyof_1 Hot tip: if you schedule for a time no one is there you can do it quietly and the only people who have to clap are the two poor trainers scheduled during the holiday (at least that’s what I accidentally did!)
Did you know? When SCOTUS said in 1937 that the Social Security Act was “unconstitutional”, President Roosevelt didn’t ask people to vote harder in the next election, he told the Supreme Court he’d add more justices until they backed off, which they did. — We can still do that.
Clarence Thomas writes, in a concurring opinion, that the Supreme Court should reconsider Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell — the rulings that now protect contraception, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage.
