Montana — yes, deep red Montana — has a plan to effectively neuter Citizens United.
No Supreme Court ruling or constitutional amendment needed.
Here's how it works.
I have spent the last 3 days painfully sitting through Charlie Kirk debates. Here are my conclusions:
He was a political grifter pandering to his MAGA base for personal and monetary gain.
He purposely chose divisive topics to maintain relavence.
His videos were manipulated, only showing arguments where Kirk was succesful
When facing actual intellectuals or prepared students, Kirk's arguments were repeatedly crushed, exposing Kirk for the uneducated buffoon that he was.
Kirk was highly succesful against random, unprepared, and often emotional university students, who often didn't have any debating experience, or the media experience he had.
Kirk was a predatory oppurtunist who prioritized entertainment value over genuine intellectual value.
Kirk operated as a sophisticated political grifter who successfully monetized cultural resentment and political division.
His dramatic personal enrichment, calculated message evolution, strategic provocation, and opportunistic positioning all point to someone who prioritized personal gain over genuine conviction
His ability to extract millions from donors while living in luxury estates represents a classic grifter model - exploiting the genuine concerns and grievances of his audience for personal enrichment while offering them little substantive improvement to their actual circumstances.
🚨NEW: Pete Hegseth has removed General Colin Powell from a list of notable Americans buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Powell made history as the first Black Secretary of State and Joint Chiefs Chairman.
RETWEET if you stand with General Powell’s family against Hegseth!
As a Brit, I've been watching the American election results with sorrow for my American friends. Some are comparing it to the Brexit vote here, imagining if we'd voted for Brexit twice. But here's the thing... in a sense, we did. And here are some lessons from it. 🧵
People keep saying Trump's rally was originally intended as his closing argument, but devolved into a hate rally instead.
But the rally we all saw IS his closing argument. He is running explicitly on much of what we witnessed on that stage.

I’m sure someone is probably fact-checking the debate… maybe… perhaps. But who’s gonna call out the dog whistles and white nonsense?
Lets Blackcheck the debate

Republicans: THERE'S A CRISIS AT THE BORDER AND BIDEN IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP.
Biden: Pass the supplemental package which includes $14 billion for border security.
Republicans: No
@_nomadic_soul There is research that suggests celiac disease and gluten sensitivity can affect brain function. I think Alesia Fasano is the person who did that research. People complaining about gf in the 2000s are lucky not to have been gf in the 1970s. That was hard.
As someone here reminded me earlier today, time helps us think about this scale of wealth:
A million seconds ago was less than 2 weeks ago: June 27th 2023
A billion seconds ago? 1992
A trillion seconds ago? tens of thousands of years before recorded human history: 29665 BCE
Some seem surprised by the tone of attacks against me of late by Christian men who claim God-given authority to lead & protect women. More than a century ago, Madeline Southard called out the spurious nature of such “protection”: 1/5
"Cultural Marxism" has entered mainstream political discourse, appearing in recent speeches by DeSantis and Hawley, Fox News broadcasts, and right-wing media from Breitbart to Ben Shapiro.
This is a thread, with clips, on the 25-year history of "Cultural Marxism" on the Right 🧵
Did you know this week marks 2 of the biggest anniversaries in American history?
Don't worry; it's not your fault. This story may be illegal in your state but 155 years ago this week...
Or 75 years ago...
Black South Carolinians invented the American education system
