Founded by the Prophet Muhammad in Mecca (Arabian Peninsula). The first revelations from God (via Angel Gabriel) occurred around 610 CE; the Hijra (migration to Medina) in 622 CE marks the start of the Islamic calendar.
Here is a bullet-point list of major invasions, conquests, and religious wars (jihads) launched by Muslim forces, beginning with Muhammad:
Wars against Quraysh and Meccans (622–630): Muhammad's campaigns from Medina, including Battle of Badr (624), Uhud (625), Trench (627), conquest of Khaybar Jews (628), and conquest of Mecca (630).
Conquest of Arabia (630–632): Subjugation of remaining Arabian tribes and unification under Islam.
Ridda Wars (632–633): Abu Bakr's campaigns to suppress apostate tribes and consolidate control over Arabia.
Conquest of Iraq/Mesopotamia (633–651): Invasion of Sasanian Persia, key battles like al-Qadisiyyah (636) and Nahavand (642), leading to fall of the Persian Empire.
Conquest of Syria/Levant (634–638): Invasion of Byzantine territories, Battle of Yarmouk (636), capture of Damascus and Jerusalem.
Conquest of Egypt (639–642): Amr ibn al-As's campaign against Byzantines, capture of Alexandria.
Conquest of North Africa (647–709): Campaigns across Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco against Byzantines and Berbers.

Arab–Byzantine Wars (ongoing from 7th century): Repeated invasions of Anatolia, sieges of Constantinople (e.g., 674–678, 717–718).
Umayyad and Abbasid expansions eastward (8th century): Further pushes into India, Central Asia, and against various kingdoms.
Ottoman conquests in Europe and Middle East (14th–17th centuries): Invasions including fall of Constantinople (1453), conquests in Balkans, Hungary, Vienna sieges (1529, 1683), and North Africa/Middle East campaigns.
@TheExtraCredits I really enjoyed it. It's a summer blockbuster style movie. It was quite entertaining, kept me guessing as it went, and fun.
Emily Blunt is excellent.
Where did Steven Spielberg "admit" this exactly? And, how would he know? He's a talented filmmaker, who also made E.T., War of the Worlds, and Close Encounters.
I've never seen him claim to have detailed knowledge of things alien.
These are fictional stories designed to entertain us and sell popcorn.
@HedgehogDogs@dcopechatter Maybe. Maybe you can tell by holding it up to the light? Or use voter registration to reject votes from registered Republicans?
Just cause you asert something doesn't make it true.. and you are obviously highly partisan Blue Anon type
@kbmullen5@MilesTrav Maybe. How much do the circumstances of your great-grandparents situation effect your everyday life? Isn't that dwelling in the past both a choice and a pathology?
Quote of the day:
"A cadre of deranged, depraved, deceitful, and dangerously destructive Democratic demagogues is determined to pile up political points on this petulance as they undermine American interests and offer aid, comfort, and most of all, encouragement to our enemies via shameless slander of their commander-in-chief"

@Annakhait@FoxNews Idolize? Maybe respect or love him, and what he represents.
They aren't worshipping him as an idol.
I pray you go to confession and then mass.
I'm an atheist. I don't hate the Pope. He's a guy in charge of a big organization, a tough job. I think he has many stupid beliefs in the political realm. (I don't concern myself with his religious beliefs like should the Catholics allow women priests. It's good he's adressing sex abuse.
It's disgusting that he's aligned with David Axelrod against our American president. Another idiot leftist CEO.
