The Skarloey Railway is saddened to announce that our beloved Chief Engineer, David Hugh II, will retire at the start of next year after 30 years in the role.

We thank him for his decades of loyal service, and wish him well in his retirement. His son, also David, will take over.

We have 36 cans of purple paint in storage, but only 12 cans of blue. And we last ordered purple paint a decade ago!
