Thrilled to announce the OSU Wheat Taps winners at the OWGA meeting! Categories: highest yield, most profitable, top milling quality, and best agronomist. A great program for Extension, commodity, and farmer groups to connect and learn. Thanks to all participants!
@OSU_NPK
.@OSU_oilseeds updating the farmers at the Regional #Canola Meeting in Enid about the agronomic field trials he and @OSU_NPK have done in recent years. Achieving at least 0.75plants/ft2 and split applying N are need to optimize yields.
Excellent turnout for the Regional #Canola Meeting in Enid today. .@cropsandclucks kicking it off by moderating a grower panel. Good farmer interest and potential for an increase in acreage this fall.
Huge turnout for the Lahoma #Wheat Field Day at the @okstate_ag North Central Research Station near Lahoma. Over 250 came to learn more about varieties, future genetics, diseases, weeds, marketing, and Ag technology.
Lahoma #Wheat Field Day is this Friday! Check-in starts at 8:30 and we'll finish with lunch. An ODAFF applicator CEU and 1.5 Certified Crop Advisor CEUs are being offered.
Great turnout for the #Wheat Field Tour near Kildare on Don Schieber's farm. We were spoiled to have Barry Hinson, Dave Hunziker, Robert Allen, and the First Cowboy Darren Shrum attend and get us fired up about #Okstate.
Wheat looked great at our trial at Apache and drought-stressed in Sentinel. This last rain will make a difference at the El Reno plots. Great turn out at the tours.
We will be at Rendel Farms in Miami tomorrow @OkiefarmerBrent
.@OSU_smallgrains showcasing the two #wheat variety trials near El Reno. The 'dual-purpose' trial was sown at 120lb/a on 9/25 and was grazed from 11/30-2/23. The 'grain only' trial was sown on 10/17 at 60lb/a.
.@OSU_smallgrains going over #wheat varieties at the field tour near Sentinel. The demonstration plot had early stripe rust pressure and now has trace infestation of leaf rust. Plot sown late Nov, maybe 3" rain since, but still making a decent crop albeit a little short.
The #okstate#wheat variety trial on the OSU Southwest Research Center is going to be a fine example of how bad early stripe rust can limit yield potential. Most have significant early damage, but some eventually showed tolerance by having a healthier flagleaf.
