Fuel Prices: 2008 vs 2026.
So tell me — is this really all down to Trump and global oil prices, or are fuel companies and the UK Government taking us for a ride too? 🤔

What Was Taken: The Ledger of English Colonial Extraction
"You cost more than you produce. You would starve without us."
That was the lie told in every English colony across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean. It’s the exact lie still told to Scotland today.
(A quick indicative evaluation based on available data and historical ledgers, applying Patnaik’s 5% real sovereign compounding rate to test the scale of what was taken; imperfect but meaningful. Not evaluating neocolonialism here):
-INDIA (1765-1938 | 173 yrs): $45.0 Trillion minimum
(Prof. Utsa Patnaik, 2017. Clock starts at the 1765 Farman granting the Diwani to "the English Company." Excluded: 165 years of pre-1765 extraction, and the £1.3 billion of unrequited sterling balances run up in 1939-45; a debt then repaid in blocked, non-convertible currency, while the inflationary financing of wartime procurement collapsed rural purchasing power in Bengal and three million died. Compounded, those war balances alone add trillions. The $45T is a floor).
-SCOTLAND (1707-Present | 319+ yrs): $12.0-$15.0 minimumTrillion (cf. below)
-IRELAND (1169-1921 | 752 yrs): $7.0-$9.0 Trillion minimum
(Confiscated land rents 1660-1801 capped at $3.0-$5.0T, with ~11 million acres transferred as Catholic landholding fell from 60% of Ireland in 1641 to 5% by 1776. Absentee landlord rents 1801-1921 = $1.8T. Fiscal over-taxation proved by Westminster's own 1896 Childers Commission at £2.75M/yr = $2.0T. Excluded: the Famine; one million dead, one million driven out, food exported from Irish ports throughout; and the Munster and Ulster plantations before 1660. The true figure is higher. Also the start of actual colonisation can be debated).
-JAMAICA (1655-1962 | 307 yrs): $7.4 Trillion minimum
(Brattle Group Reparations Report, convened by ICJ Judge Robinson. Enslaved labor rents, sugar monoculture, and post-emancipation dispossession).
-REST OF THE ENGLISH CARIBBEAN (1627-1960s+): ~$5.0 Trillion minimum
(Aggregated from Brattle Group national findings for Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and the Leeward/Windward Islands. Combined Caribbean total: ~$12.4T of England's $23.4T global slavery liability, the remainder falling to the United States and other claimant states. In 1833, England borrowed £20m to compensate 46,000 slaveholders; the enslaved got nothing. Paid off in 2015).
-MALAYA (1874-1957 | 83 yrs): $1.8-$2.5 Trillion minimum
(Mechanism: Jomo K.S. Post-WWII Dollar Pool confiscation, on top of 70 years of tin and rubber export surplus).
-BURMA (1824-1948 | 124 yrs): $1.2-$1.6 Trillion minimum
(Mechanism: J.S. Furnivall. Integration into Indian Home Charges; unrequited rice and oil surpluses).
-NIGERIA (1861-1960 | 99 yrs): $850 Billion-$1.1 Trillion minimum
(Mechanism: Walter Rodney. Marketing Board price suppression; reserves locked in low-yield London bonds).
-KENYA (1895-1963 | 68 yrs): $450-$600 Billion minimum
(Mechanism: Land records. Expropriation of 7.5M acres in the White Highlands; poll-tax labor cartels).
AND THEN THERE IS SCOTLAND (1707-Present | 319+ yrs): $12.0-$15.0 Trillion minimum
(Based on £150B+ annual contemporary resource/energy extraction, trillions in total North Sea hydrocarbon wealth siphoned away; wiping out the sovereign wealth fund that on Norway’s model would today stand comparable to Norway's own $2.2 trillion; arbitrary Westminster debt overheads; deliberate deindustrialisation; destruction of ports/transport & logistics; whisky & other export revenue theft...).
Every figure above except one was produced by external experts talked to do this; a leading economist, an international report convened by an ICJ judge, a royal commission of the coloniser's own parliament.
Scotland's is the sole exception, because no institution has ever been asked to count it.
There is a permanent, publicly funded colonial annual exercise establishing what colonised Scotland supposedly costs England. There has never been one establishing what England took and takes; what England steals from Scotland.
The parallel with Ireland reveals the state's entire playbook:
-In 1896, Westminster’s Childers Commission proved Ireland was systematically over-taxed. London buried it.
-In 1954, a Royal Commission proclaimed Scotland a "voluntary partner" to avoid decolonisation and lie to the UN and the international community. London has quoted it for 70 years.
-In 1992, Westminster created GERS to fabricate an artificial Scottish "deficit" and bury Scotland's sovereign asset potential.
Every account above was closed when the flag came down.
Scotland's is open. The £150 billion is this year's.
Loot the wealth and cook the ledger. Then blame the victim and fund a statistics department to “prove” it.

Not a 'union of the crowns'. That term is reserved for what is known as a 'personal union', a common enough occurrence of the day, where the same monarch takes lifetime possession of two entirely different Crowns, those Crowns remaining unchanged. That occurred in 1603, and was repeated a further five times prior to the 1707 Treaty of Union. What the latter stipulated, purporting to give what followed constitutional authority, was a full-blown *merger*, or melding, of those Crowns into one single Crown – the Crown of Great Britain. It is *this* which never occurred, and which underpins Joan's otherwise entirely correct observation. No Crown merger = separate Crown territories (i.e. Kingdoms).
Further question: what today, therefore, IS united about those Kingdoms, the existence of their territorial boundaries witnessed by the very act of their shifting? No more, and arguably even less than the unity of the personal unions that arose between 1603 and 1707, since, after 1714, no monarch has ever held the Scottish Crown. There has since that day been *no* King or Queen of Scots. Of course, the two un-united Kingdoms (note the supreme irony) have a unity of political control, the self-awarded absolute power of a London parliament. But what does that amount to? Complete subjugation of one people by another: annexation, colonisation, unilateral boundary-shifting at will, and the relentless resource extraction which is the ultimate purpose of not just the English, but all the world's past and present imperial endeavours.

25th May - Holyrood voted for a Referendum.
12mins later...
25th May - Downing Street refused a referendum.
Has the SNP leadership taken any other steps since ? ...
Israel now occupies a higher percentage of Lebanon than Russia does of Ukraine.
All of Russian occupied Ukraine was majority Russian speaking before the war.
Zero of Israeli occupied Lebanon was ever Hebrew speaking.
Please keep posting & re-posting this: https://t.co/sGsDi4Ll8c Don't let colonialist Labour off the constitutional hook. Scotland refuses to be a colony of England.
I urge every Scot to retweet this, regardless of politics. The Edinburgh Agreement does not contain the phrase "once in a generation." Lab and the Tories keep repeating this lie. They think all Scots are stupid enough to fall for their propaganda.
Well done @Tesco Just got my Christmas delivery with items from the Christmas food magazine and the cheesecake is out of date on Christmas Eve. What use is that to anyone? Definitely WON'T be ordering their Christmas food again.
Poor driver was so apologetic and can't fault him
There is no treaty. Why? Because the Treaty of Union, a forced, unconstitutional and unlawful contract between the English’s state and bought or threatened Scottish elites, was never implemented. Read that again. The treaty was never implemented. How do we know?
It calls for a single kingdom, with a parliament represent it. There is no single Crown of ‘Britain’. There’s England’s Crown ‘extended’ Scotland and Scotland’s Crown made dormant while an English monarch claims its ‘rights, rents and privileges’. There is no single kingdom of Great Britain because a kingdom is the territorial jurisdiction of a crown. So two kingdoms remain, one set over the other.
There is no parliament for a non existent single kingdom. Just England’s Parliament continuing uninterrupted while Scotland’s was abolished by royal decree. (And it has never reconvened; Holyrood is the Westminster Scottish Executive referred to as a Scottish Parliament and government when it is nothing of the kind.)
The UK is the continuation of the state of England. The state of Scotland was extinguished, every lever and mechanism while England remained unaltered.
This not the ‘union’ of the treaty. This is annexation. It was never voluntary because no agreement exists for adding Scotland to the English Crown and the administration of the English state. It is, in fact, colonisation by the purest definition of that term.
We do not contest a treaty that was never implemented and whose terms were not just violated but never intended to be more than a political inducement accompanied by the threat of invasion and the bribery of key signatories.
We must not support the fiction of a treaty based union by challenging an inoperative treaty but the fiction of any union at all when there is no no partnership whatever - only a trap, represented as a treaty agreement and revealed as colonisation as soon as the ink was dry.
Extraordinary. You could not make this up. A senior advisor to the Prime Minister of India, the most populous nation on earth, has just publicly declared that Scotland is a colony. Watch carefully what happened next, because the reaction tells you everything about the true constitutional condition of Scotland.
1. The colonial UK i.e. English government said nothing. No protest, diplomatic complaint or rebuttal. Why? Because Scotland is a colony & a protest would force the English state to defend a fiction. Any sovereign state secure in its legitimacy would immediately challenge such a statement. Silence here is fear not dignity; the recognition that the charge is accurate. The English government cannot dispute the claim without exposing the territorial alienation of Scotland even more starkly before the world.
2. The Scottish devolved administration also said nothing.
No outrage, defence, explanation, protest...Nada. Why the paralysis? Because the devolved administration is structurally colonised & politically dependent. If they reject the statement, they expose themselves as collaborators protecting the coloniser. If they endorse it, they confront the English state, which they will never dare to do. Their silence is the silence of a trapped institution; confirming they are not a government. They are a departmental unit managing the colony.
3. The British i.e. the English coloniser's media system immediately locked the issue down. No BBC headline. Nothing. Total blackout. Why? Because Scotland is a colony. If this story receives oxygen, the entire narrative architecture collapses. So the BBC simply refused to report it, as if censoring the existence of the largest democracy on the planet were normal public broadcasting practice.
4. The only outlet that touched the story was The Telegraph, and for containment not journalism. The Telegraph did not even mention the name of the advisor to the Indian PM. It erased him. The person who made the statement & fabricated a decoy narrative centred on William Dalrymple, whose role in this affair was purely reactive. The Telegraph replaced the Indian-origin statement with a white British colonial intermediary to hijack the frame & reassert English interpretive control. A classic colonial tactic: erase the Global South voice, install a collaborating intermediary, redirect the discussion away from the original claim. Crazy.
Dalrymple performed the expected colonial argument. He replied to Sanyal with a colonial containment line: that “ethnic Scots” had supposedly managed the English coloniser by producing Blair, Brown, Cameron. (Blair, Cameron are not Scots!) A bizarre, racist argument that assumes Scots are ethnically manageable units within an English state narrative, deployed to erase the colonial condition of Scotland; reducing Scottish identity to an administrative resource of the coloniser. A textbook example of colonial psychology at work.
5. Every actor behaved exactly as actors in a colonial system behave.
– The coloniser avoided comment to protect itself
– The colonised administrative class froze because its loyalty is divided, ultimately subordinate
– The colonial media system suppressed the story because its function is to maintain the colonial illusion
– The collaborating intellectual stepped forward to neutralise the charge, redirecting attention away from the Global South
–Inadvertently confirming the original accusation.
It all makes sense since Scotland is a colony. If Scotland were a sovereign nation, this episode would have unfolded entirely differently. None of this would be happening.
Every institution reacted exactly as a colonial system reacts. This tells the world what the English state is desperately trying to hide.
The truth is out. India said it. The world will repeat it. The English state has no answer.
