EV Grieve: City removes curbside dining structure at Amor Y A... https://t.co/JxL7oKtTei
Itβs great to see this topic being discussed more widely in the city. Excessive noise has always been a public health issue - and disproportionately impacts communities of color. I hope @NYCMayorsOffice ups efforts to address the issue - especially in communities of color.
@2AvSagas So if FDNY says they need a 15' travel lane down a street for access, and there's only 11' bc there are sheds on each side of the street, and there hasn't been a fire yet on that block...that's an unfounded concern? Isn't that called fire prevention?
@2AvSagas Wish the valid complaints would be addressed, too. Unfortunately neither city govt, DOT, or outdoor dining operators have done much of a job at all of "respecting the rules."
"It's just insane to me that people are focusing on these minutiae, that might be a slight negative, when there are so many radical positives," says the owner of this sealed, no-proof-of-vax-required shed.
So many radical positives, coming here soon. #sunsetthesheds
At least a dozen restaurants and bars in New York City temporarily closed this week as workers test positive for Covid. The reported number of new cases in the city has risen to an average of 3,554 a day, an increase of 135% from the average two weeks ago. https://t.co/RFCod5Rzr6
@AnimalPragmatsm@sethmpk blah blah "bad faith argument" etc etc - did you read the guy's piece? He's nothing if not sincere. You're going to have to use your second fave ave of personal attack: hahaha "ridiculously sincere guy."
@sethmpk@AnimalPragmatsm Pls your take makes it sound like you're on the side of getting rid of small non-food biz so there can be more restaurants and bars. Which...really?
@SethFriederman@sethmpk Think that's the idea: NYC dining will still party on when it's all *in*. Also temp program based on pandemic isn't justification for future permanency.
