Not sure if ppl hv noticed this feature in Google maps with respect to #NammaMetro .We can get to know the timings of the next metro train available and what time it will reach the stations by clicking on station name with “M” symbol. Steps as below. @ChristinMP_@ever_pessimist
I was fascinated by the idea of migrating abroad when I was in middle school. I had heard so many “wow” stories about the sons and daughters of my father’s colleagues who had gone overseas.
I wrote the SAT way back in 2003. Got multiple admits, including NUS and NTU. Everything was ready for me to migrate.
But I also got admission to CEG, then among the best engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. And I did the unthinkable. I chose Mechanical Engineering at CEG over NUS/NTU.
Dad went wild!
At the end of my undergraduate years, I had two choices: GRE or CAT. Dad wanted me to take the GRE and leave India at the earliest. I chose CAT. I stayed back.
I eventually started a venture in one of India's most heavily regulated industries.
And the regulators nearly killed my venture thrice. Closing down MSE. Slashing commissions at their whims and fancies. Arbitrarily increasing net-worth requirements and questioning the very viability of my business.
There were moments when I wondered whether staying back had been a mistake. The system certainly gave me enough reasons to feel that way.
Yet, by God's grace, I survived. Seventeen years of running a company in India.
And despite everything, I still love this country. I don't entirely know why.
Perhaps it is the mananimmathi I experience when I travel through her countryside. Perhaps it is the atma tripti her temples give me. Perhaps it is the inexplicable happiness I feel in Malnad, in my Pandya desam, or in my beloved Travancore whenever I set foot on that soil and walk its paths.
Priceless. Absolutely priceless.
Look at where India was in the 1960s and 1970s and where she is today. She has come a long way.
From confiscatory 97% marginal income-tax rates to a much lower peak rate today. From a hopelessly Fabian socialist model to a mixed economy. From waiting endlessly for a Bajaj Chetak to being able to buy a Toyota in minutes. From waiting years for a telephone connection to becoming one of the world's cheapest mobile-data markets. From mud roads to expressways. From extreme poverty — remember Kamal Haasan eating an apple that had fallen into a gutter in Varumayin Niram Sivappu — to Shimla apples being available even in village markets.
India has travelled an extraordinary distance.
Of course, she could have done much better. She could have become another Singapore in terms of civic infrastructure, public services and urban planning. We have squandered decades and opportunities. There is no denying that.
But she remains India.
I take comfort in how far she has travelled despite decades of socialist policies and political mismanagement, rather than spending every waking moment complaining about everything that is wrong with her.
I can criticise India. I can demand better governance, better infrastructure and better public services. I can be frustrated with her bureaucracy and regulations.
But my affection for her runs deeper than my frustrations.
And perhaps that is what people who constantly compare India with the West fail to understand. A country is not merely the quality of its roads, the efficiency of its bureaucracy or the size of its paycheques. There is also a sense of belonging, a civilisational connection and a peace of mind that cannot be measured on a spreadsheet.
I would rather be a small soul in a country I love than spend my life as an indentured servant in a soulless system.
I had my opportunities to leave. I chose to stay.
Seventeen years later, with all the scars, setbacks and struggles, I still feel it was worth it.
She is far from perfect. But she is mine. She will never ditch me. She will not ask for a VISA to accommodate me as she has soul and I am her son.
And that makes all the difference.
Key disadvantages of allowing Starlink in India include:
National security risks: Foreign-controlled network limits India's ability to shut off service in sensitive border areas or ensure availability during crises. Past reports of terminals with militants or smugglers raise misuse concerns.
Data sovereignty issues: Laser links could route traffic outside Indian gateways, complicating monitoring and lawful interception.
High costs: Hardware and monthly fees likely far exceed affordable terrestrial options like Jio or Airtel, limiting rural access.
Market impact: Could disrupt local telecoms and foster over-reliance on a single US provider instead of domestic alternatives.

1. How Foreign-funded NGOs and people are interfering with our election process.
Shocking details of sold-out people and NGOs.
ADR, with their lawyer Prashant Bhushan, filed many PILs in the SC against the Election Commission.
@naadaprabhugalu 100% true. daily scenes in peak hour. crazy rush. Politicians, officers sitting in AC rooms should travel one day in peak hours once, then surely they may get reality check.
Hi @takeUforward_ , was trying to use planly and found 2 things.
1- unable to save the plan or move forward
2- currently there is no option to select for 8-10 years experienced or more - is it because i am core member or feature not available. Pls advice.
@kengeritrfps@blrcitytraffic In Mysore Road, near to Kengeri market, I hope this opening is only for pedestrians, but a lot of times 2 wheelers cross the road using this and cause lot of hold up and this traffic for incoming vehicles after signal. Can you pls check
@bhatnaturally Same thing happened with me. It’s practically the death of one of the AirPod. If it’s within warranty, they replace it, but I had the same experience, and even the replacement didn’t work after a few days as the same issue recurred. Even a software update doesn’t help.
There are some days where you feel nothing goes your way and you feel lost even when you have tried so much - basically life tests you and burns down all your ego. Those days-nights truly teaches you everything and will cleanse you in and out.
@RandomCricketP1 definitely too late. but decision making is still an open issue. Don't understand why akeal hosein dont play every game. why sarfaraz khan is not playing regularly. It has costed us 1 or 2 games (one v SRH). But better unit compared to first 3 games.
Mindless captaincy and clueless management decisions from @ChennaiIPL bottling yet another game. At least 2nd in this season. This season is anyways gone and probably next season as well. Prep for mega auction starts now with complete overhaul of outdated coaching staff #CSKvGT
@ChristinMP_ A drop. In the ocean that is the KSCA X RCB BLACK MARKET RING.
I can connect the cops myself to 20-30 people who are selling them at 4x - 5x
What is the police so proud off.
Taken them 5 years to catch one person in this whole operation.
@ChristinMP_ From 2024 onwards black ticketing in IPL has become very common and it will remain so. It is common sense to know when RCB tickets getting sold out in very few seconds but available outside. Prices are insane. Everyone is involved- KSCA and TicketGenie also knows. Shameful.
Bengaluru city police arrested a man for black-marketing IPL tickets for RCB vs Lucknow Super Giants (Apr 15). He allegedly bought tickets via private firms & resold them at inflated prices. Probe found 181 tickets worth Rs 17.52 lakh were sold illegally. Earlier, 81 tickets worth Rs 6.6 lakh for RCB vs CSK were also resold. Accused is in custody & investigation is on @BlrCityPolice@CPBlr
