That he wasnt on duty. That they gave him a pass to go treat himself of malaria but he instead decided to stay back

Nurses in Nigeria deserve better.

For years, Nurses been underpaid, overworked, and disrespected. They pay us peanuts, strip us of dignity, and expect us to smile , all in the name of “serving humanity.”

Is it any wonder Nigerian nurses are leaving the country in droves?
Abroad, they’re paid better, treated with respect, and protected by systems that value their lives.

Yet here, even when we finally stand to demand change, our own colleagues stay silent.

Why?

Fear?
Loyalty to a broken system?
Or have we forgotten that our labor keeps this system running?

But humanity starts with justice. With fair pay. With safe working conditions.
We’re short-staffed, we’re stressed, and we’re still expected to perform miracles.

Nurses are not slaves.
We are not martyrs.
And silence is not strength — it is submission.

This strike is more than a protest. It’s a cry for dignity.
If we can’t fight for ourselves, how can we keep fighting for others?

It’s time we stood together.
