Three hours before kickoff today, the visiting fans set up tents at an elementary school outside Orlando and started unloading thousands of pounds of food.
None of it was for them.
All of it was for students at the school they came to play.
The visitors were BYU.
The food goes to the Knights Helping Knights Pantry at UCF, which started in 2009 as a class project and is now run by students for students.
Last school year it gave out more than 185,000 pounds of food across nearly 60,000 visits. About 400 UCF students walk through it on an ordinary day.
Roughly 35% of UCF students say they deal with some level of food insecurity.
BYU fans have been doing this at road games since 2019. They call it Cougs Care, and the local alumni chapter picks the charity in whatever city the team is playing in.
Last November in Lubbock they ran a book drive with Texas Tech fans for Literacy Lubbock. It was supposed to be one tailgate. It turned into a week.
Here is what the Texas Tech side said about that.
"Everyone wanted to help, so we decided to make this a weeklong event."
They collected more than 6,000 books. Andy Reid went to Brigham Young University. Patrick Mahomes went to Texas Tech. Both of them pushed it online.
In Ames, Iowa they collected coats, shoes and blankets, and they did it in the name of a man from Des Moines named Charles Good, who in 1856 gave new boots to a group of children walking west. They were paying back a stranger 169 years later.
At East Carolina they filled the Purple Pantry with more than 5,000 pounds.
Tyler Stahle of BYU posted pictures from under the tent in Oviedo this afternoon while the food was still coming in.
Last season the whole thing brought in 76,500 pounds, which was 15 times what it collected the year before, and the number of people taking part doubled to 26,500.
The last time BYU played in Orlando, two years ago, fans left about 2,000 pounds for this same pantry.
The tailgate was open to both sides, and UCF fans came and gave to their own pantry alongside them.
Be honest about the size of it. One tailgate does not fix a campus where a third of the students are short on food, and the University of Central Florida is one of the largest schools in the country. The drive is also run by BYU's own alumni association, which means it is good for BYU too.
And the pantry is not the only thing on that campus that needs filling.
BYU lost today. UCF won 39 to 31 in double overtime.
The food was already stacked on the tables by then. The cans were counted, the bags were loaded, and none of those people knew yet whether they had driven across the country to watch their team lose.
They handed it over before they knew.
When was the last time somebody did something for you with nothing in it for them.
Thanks to @tstahle15 for sharing this story!

MAHA 🇺🇸
You can’t see his face.
Briton Rivière painted Daniel with his back to you. Barefoot. Hands bound behind him. Standing at the bottom of a pit, in the dim light that falls from the opening above.
And the lions are facing you.
That’s the trick of the painting. You’re not watching Daniel. You’re standing where Daniel stands. Every lion in that den is looking in your direction. Some curious. Some restless. One rising. Bones on the floor from the last men who came down here.
Rivière studied lions for hours at the London Zoo to get this right. The weight of the shoulders. The way a big cat watches before it moves. He wanted you to feel exactly how close they are.
And Daniel’s hands are tied.
He can’t fight. He can’t climb. He can’t even shield his face.
So how did he survive?
Not in the den. Go back a few verses.
Daniel 6:10. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
As he did aforetime.
The king had just signed a law: anyone who prays to any god but the king for thirty days goes to the lions. Daniel heard about it. Went home. Opened the window. And prayed exactly the way he’d prayed the day before.
He didn’t start praying because of the lions. He didn’t stop praying because of them either. He didn’t even close the window.
Now here’s what almost nobody notices.
Daniel was taken to Babylon as a young man, in the third year of Jehoiakim. Daniel 1:1. That’s around 605 BC.
The lions’ den happens under Darius the Mede, after Babylon falls. Around 539 BC.
Do the math. Sixty-six years.
Every children’s Bible draws Daniel as a strong young man. He wasn’t. He was an old man, probably past eighty. Sixty-some years of praying three times a day toward a city he’d never see again. A temple that had been burned to the ground.
That’s roughly seventy thousand prayers before the den.
The hands in this painting are bound. But those hands had been folded every morning, noon, and evening for sixty-six years. The battle wasn’t won in the pit. It was won at the window.
Look at how his enemies built the trap.
Daniel 6:4. They sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault.
Verse 5. We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
They audited his whole life and came up empty. The only crime they could find was his faithfulness. So they made it illegal.
Now watch what happens next. It should sound familiar.
Daniel 6:17. And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet.
A stone over the opening. Sealed by the authority of the empire.
The king can’t sleep. He doesn’t eat. And then
Daniel 6:19. Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
Very early in the morning. In a hurry. To a sealed stone.
Six hundred years later, Matthew 27:66. They made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
And then very early in the morning, someone came hurrying to that stone too.
Daniel was a preview. A righteous man condemned by a law rigged against him, his only crime faithfulness to God, sealed under a stone overnight, and in the morning, he came up alive.
Daniel 6:23. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
Hebrews 11 lists him among the faithful. Who through faith... stopped the mouths of lions.
Now look at the painting one more time. Look at what Rivière didn’t paint.
No angel. No light shining down. No miracle on display.
Just an old man with his hands tied, facing everything that wants to eat him, standing still.
That’s the part of the story most of us live in. Not the rescue. The night.
Now you.
The lions are real. 1 Peter 5:8. Your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Some of you are in the den right now. Hands tied. You can’t fix it. You can’t fight it. You can’t climb out. The diagnosis, the lawsuit, the layoff, the thing someone said about you that isn’t true. They found nothing else against you, so they found something.
And you’re standing in the dark with your back to everyone, waiting.
Here’s what Daniel knew.
You don’t build faith in the den. You build it at the window. Every ordinary morning you prayed when nothing was wrong, every boring evening you gave thanks when you didn’t feel like it that’s what holds you up when the lions are close enough to smell.
If you haven’t built it yet, start tonight. Not when the law is signed. Now.
And if you’re already in the pit
the stone is not the end of the story. Someone is coming very early in the morning.
He’s done it before.
Open the window.
In October 2019, Noah’s Ark Scans conducted a major ground-penetrating radar survey of the Durupınar formation, filmed in part by the Science Channel with both 100 MHz and 250 MHz antennas.
American geophysicist Dr. Dan Bigman of Bigman Geophysical in Georgia first processed the data and identified right-angles, linear features, and other anomalies several meters down.
Andrew Jones later sent the raw data to an independent American geophysicist with 30 years of experience who ran her own company and had no connection to the project.
She reviewed the data over a period of six months. In 2023 she shared her findings, asked if we had dug a tunnel beneath the formation (we did not), and found a massive hallway-like tunnel roughly 4 meters down running through the dead center of the formation, along with voids, corridors, chambers, a larger central cavity, and parallel linear patterns.
In 2026, Dr. Khrosrow Bakhtar and BakhtarRadar confirmed this same massive tunnel that runs dead center through the formation, with organized patterns, corridors, and 3 layers. He said the structure beneath the surface was “extraordinary”

For a while I asked God, “Why me? Why do I have epilepsy? Why do I have struggles? Why am I in pain at times?”
Now I ask, “How can You use me?” And it’s by doing this. Encouraging others who are struggling. Giving people hope. Reminding people that joy isn’t the absence of hard things - it’s that Christ is there in the midst of them.
That’s my purpose, and you have a purpose too. Look to Christ. He won’t lead you astray.

🚨❌⛳️ #BREAKING – 3-time PGA TOUR winner Charles Howell III is leaving LIV Golf & plans to exit the league to play on the DPWT. The 47-year old was playing on Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC.
📰 @JoshACarpenter
Anirban Lahiri of @Crushers_GC spoke with media ahead of the DP World India Championship in New Delhi. Below are the questions and answers regarding LIV Golf.
Q. Can you tell us a bit about the LIV situation and your plans for the future?
ANIRBAN LAHIRI: The situation is very dynamic. A lot of things going on. It's hard for me to comment on it, also because, you know, it's a matter of seeing how the processes work out.
As for me, I'm just focusing on playing this week. I'm here for the DP World Tour India Championship. I'm excited how I play this week. I think my focus and energies are going to be in the here and now and next week I'm playing in Hong Kong and then I do have the Philippine Open on my schedule, by which time I think we will know.
I think my only message to everyone who is going to have questions regarding this is you have been patient so far. Just give it another month, month and a half, and everyone will know exactly what's happening one way or the other.
So, yeah, that's all I would like to say on that. LIV has been great for me and I've enjoyed it. Would I like for it to continue? Why not. But we don't have a crystal ball so let's see where it goes.
Q. You spoke about the end of the LIV season being hectic. Can you describe how it has sort of been managing the challenge of distractions for you this season with obviously a lot of uncertainty happening?
ANIRBAN: It's been actually ver easy for me because I've just -- I keep joking with my friends that I live under a rock in Dubai and I actually do. The best thing that I found for my own peace of mind was to not go looking for information. The one thing I also learned is if you go looking for information you're going to hear ten things and nine half will be untrue.
So the reality is that the one thing I learned in the last four, four and a half years is until something has actually happened it's not happening. It's just been a cycle that's been on repeat. People say things that are rumors, this is believed, this is believed. Somebody else is doing that. It just continues, and then something totally different happens.
For me I'm going to do what I need to do. My time was well spent with my family focused on my own wellbeing, their wellbeing. I love playing golf. I believe I have a lot of gas left in the tank, a lot more that I want to achieve, and I'm going to continue to work my hardest to be the best golfer I can.
Where I play is going to be based on the best interest of my family and myself. When that opportunity or option is put in front of me I'll exercise the best option. Outside of that, I don't pay attention to what's going on because there is no point. There is nothing I can do to alter the larger scheme of things outside my own golf and the quality that I bring to a golf courses, which is why I said that the best thing that everybody can do is chill out and wait for a month; let things play out.
Then I know there is less sensationalism, less page three tabloid media to put out there, but it's great to sure our mental health.
Q. I think you have until the 25th to communicate your decision.
ANIRBAN: Do I?
Q. I believe so. The bankruptcy court is set out for the 25th of October. Have you communicated any decision at the moment, or is that something you'll leave to the deadline?
ANIRBAN: There is a lot of things happening which I'm not privy to share. Like I said, I'm going to make my decision when my options are in front of me, and the decisions will be based on what I believe is in the best interest of my family and myself.
I've had the time myself life the last four years. It's been fantastic. At the end of the day I'm a professional golfer. I intend to continue to do what I do at the highest level possible to the best of my ability. Whatever option allows me to balance that with where I find myself in my life is what I'm going to do.
LIV’s 1pm bankruptcy hearing is underway.
Key items:
• final approval of PIF’s ~$54M DIP financing to help the league continue operations
• uncontested assumption of the BC Partners RSA for LIV 2.0
• rejection of remaining old player contracts
As we reported on 9/22, PIF, as champions of global team golf, continue to support LIV, ensuring the league will land on its feet’s for 2027 and beyond.
🚨🚨🚨 Per Financial Times, LIV 2.0 will have 17 tournaments in total for 2027. Quick pivot from DPWT interference.
"As for the new LIV, BC has said both itself and partners will commit up to $300mn. The league is supposed to have 17 tournaments in total with 10 “signature” stops around the world. Goldthorpe has insisted that there are plenty of co-investors expressing interest in a golf league and a potential adjacent lifestyle brand."

🚨 WATCH: Gov. Ron DeSantis says the Florida National Guard has cleared 1,700 miles of roadway and distributed more than 4,000 cases of water, 1,700 meals, 2,600 bags of ice and 2,200 tarps in Hurricane Isaias recovery, with more than 20 flight hours logged, mostly for damage assessments.
@GovRonDeSantis: "Fortunately most of that is damage assessments because there weren't people that needed to be rescued like we've had to the extent in previous storms."
🚨⛳️📈 #COMMITTED — World #608 Richard Bland and world #744 Cameron Tringale have confirmed their commitment to play in LIV Golf 2.0 should it come to fruition, per @flushingitgolf. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil said earlier the league intends to expand their fields to 75 players.
Will you be tuning in for LIV 2.0?
Toured areas of Okaloosa County and surveyed damage. Saw a lot of damage that was connected with fallen trees. I appreciate all the hard work that our local and state officials are doing!
