@jrmorgan16 Argentina were always a team I liked watching, but they have been gifted three matches already, so the sooner they can kick rocks the better. Spain has some unreal talent, but France is just too loaded.
Villanova HC Kevin Willard: "I'm gonna fire my staff."
Lauren Shehadi: "Not now."
Willard: "Yeah, I am. Because we've given up 8 points on underneath out-of-bounds defense. The only thing I'm gonna do is fire them and get a new staff." #MarchMadness
Acting as if there was this surplus of elite QBs there for the taking is pure fiction. They got the guys they got to make the most of a less than ideal situation.
You can believe it was time for a coaching, but blaming the playoff drought on Tomlin is disingenuous. Losing playoff games when your best options at QB are Big Ben (with half of an arm), Pickett, Rudolph, Mitch, Fields, and Russ ain’t on the coach.
Lied to the players.
Lied to the MD administration.
Lied to the MD boosters.
Lied to the local media.
Lied to the National media.
Blamed the media for fabricating the Villanova rumors.
Forced out the AD.
Publicly threw the University under the bus.
Skipped team dinner before S16.
Ruined the entire Sweet 16 experience for Maryland.
All the while had already signed a term sheet to Villanova and verbally accepted the job.
Then after all that, Willard says he regrets nothing.
Kevin Willard sucks.
@Blutman27 On Mostly Sports, you said Crosby hasn’t played meaningful hockey in years? They missed the playoffs in two straight years (by 1 pt both times) after 17 playoff apps in a row. He’s been what everybody hopes McDavid can one day become...
@jrmorgan16 Clearly Lamar is a great QB and they aren’t there without him, but the common thread in the losses has been turnovers, some of which fall on him.
Brutal officiating so far. Baltimore with at least 3 holding penalties that don’t get called, but the refs shut down a drive in plus territory on a textbook block.
Damn near did a spit take when I overheard a PSU fanboy at the gym say teams will be scared of PSU next year and that “Rich Franklin showed he can get it done.”
Apparently having a QB that is ass against good teams & zero competent WRs will have teams “shaking in their boots.”
@jrmorgan16@GlennClarkRadio@danorlovsky7 I believe much of the discourse re Diggs was that his attitude made things untenable within that team and it was best to part ways. Re OL, the average person’s knowledge doesn’t go further than looking at sacks/rushing stats. Offensive weapons matter more for MVP voting purposes.
@jrmorgan16 I would’ve agreed with this in prior years, but when Shakir is your best receiving weapon and your D has a few less game-wreckers, this Bills team isn’t Super Bowl or bust (though I’d love a BUF/DET Super Bowl)
@jrmorgan16 Perception is key here. Buffalo has exceeded expectations w/ Allen taking over marquee games (ex Chiefs) while Baltimore is struggling to win a division they were rightfully expected to dominate, given the weapons they got for Lamar.
