So many comments under this post don't understand that @namespacelabs literally is just stacking up as much compute as possible as their demand is seemingly very high for MacOS boxes.

Which 100% makes sense with the agentic boom and more compute use cases that are getting increasingly more important

Some don't seem to understand how much money there is in hosting these systems not only for agentic production cases but especially RL.

They will make their money back fast.

Also to the question of why macbooks: isn't it obvious that the volume supply for macbooks is an order of magnitude high than for mac minis/mac studios?

Not only that, the liquid value of macbooks is also way higher. You can always sell macbooks on the secondary market (even to broke students lol) and make money back if you overbought and for some reason run out of liquidity. Try that with a mac mini or mac studio. GG

We have been deploying capacity for 2y+ and much of our fleet is minis! Most important for us is to offer a great product to our customers.

Apple has been delivering little to no mini/studio capacity over the last 5 months. We don’t leave folks hanging.

Hopefully supply improves Sep 22 when the new minis are out (which we have ordered already!)
