@SafeKootenay Commercial interests want to pump and dump stocks in safe supply companies just like they did with legal marijuana. Most people won’t see a dime, more people will die than are helped, but at least corporate money will make big profits. It’s a game, and our lives are chump change.

🚨"SAFE SUPPLY" PROVIDER USING MILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO PUSH DRUGS ON KIDS🚨

I am disgusted by news that drug use information cards were made available to 10-year-olds at a school-sanctioned event in Nanaimo last week.

AVI Health & Community Services distributed the cards about using drugs like Meth, Ecstacy, Cocaine, and even the date-rape drug GHB. This is appalling.

I am shocked but not surprised that AVI's $13M in funding comes primarily from taxpayers, including for harmful "safe supply" programs, courtesy of the Eby NDP & Carney Liberals.

Both levels of government need to stop pushing & funding drug legalization, and instead provide drug prevention programs in schools with education about treatment & recovery for youth with addiction.

On Mar. 14, the BC Coroner’s service quietly released OD deaths to Jan. 2025. Nanaimo ended 2024 down 17.5% from 2023, and started the year with 2 (still too many) deaths in Jan. What changed? Less drugs and more restrictions on access thanks to pressure by Conservatives.

We know for a fact the chief medical officer of VIHA knew on February 15, 2023 that major diversion of “safe supply” was happening at the pharmacy at 55 Victoria Rd. In Nanaimo. How we know? Because we told them in a formal letter, including evidence, and copied the Nanaimo RCMP.

This was the original letter sent from NAPSA to Island Health’s chief medical officer on Feb. 15, 2023. This was 6 weeks before the story was in the press. Two years we have been raising concerns. It has taken this long, and this much damage, for our government to listen.
