@memoizing@p00rpete@JustBins Two wrongs don't make a right. Waking people who have chosen to follow another religion (or none) at 5 am is simply inconsiderate of your neighbours. Politeness and thinking of the other person are Canadian values.
@JustBins OK once to celebrate the opening of the mosque, but not all the time, especially at 5 am. That would be just plain inconsiderate of their neighbours.

@bennetowuonda I had a stack of Little Golden Book Encylopedias beside my bed and read them every night. Scrolling on the internet thru random history posts etc is weirdly familiar.
@GG37374104@philngo_@MarkJCarney@andrewaperez@EricDLombardi I've been a leftish voter, but was completely turned off the ON Liberal party by the way the SSW byelection nomination was handled. Bottom line, experienced Nathaniel Erskine-Smith seemed a better candidate FOR US than politically inexperienced Mr Hafiz. Now, distrusting the Libs
@delieberman "That's how Jews feel when they go to Israel." More so, I imagine, given your people's history. I hope your son has a safe trip and one he will remember for his whole life.
@delieberman When I went to Ireland, I was surprised to see how many people looked like my extended family, especially since my ancestors came to north America in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. I told my Jewish friend, and she said,
@MasterMaliq Also, I think being against music and representational visual art means Islam's followers turn their backs on some of the greatest accomplishments in our civilization. Music and art have the power to help humans understand each other, and Muslims are shut out of that.
@MasterMaliq As a woman, the rules governing women make me uneasy. For example coercing or forcing them to cover, a woman's word is worth half a man's in a trial, and being relegated to tiny corners of a huge mosque, as I saw at the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
@GG37374104 Idyllic. I love the lily pond. If I tried that in my south Scarborough yard, every raccoon in the vicinity would be in there washing the food they liberate from the green bins. But I'm enjoying looking at yours!
@Feisty_Waters I have no problem with homeless people who want to read books or papers the same as anyone. But those who mutter and scream and frighten people are another matter. Librarians shouldn't be expected to handle that, and unfortunately it scares off other patrons.
