ENDSARS LEKKI TOLL GATE: NEVER FORGET OCTOBER 20, 2020
Today, October 20, 2026, marks the sixth anniversary of the Lekki Toll Gate shootings, a painful reminder of the price Nigerian youths paid in their demand for a better country.
On that fateful night, peaceful #EndSARS protesters were met with gunfire. Lives were lost, many were injured, and the nation was left with questions about justice, accountability, and the sanctity of human life.
We must never forget. We must never normalise injustice.
As we remember the victims, I reaffirm my belief that a New Nigeria is possible—a country where citizens are protected, not brutalised; where young people are heard, not silenced; and where government power is exercised with responsibility and respect for human rights.
Nigeria must become a nation where no citizen is punished for demanding good governance and a better future.
May the souls of the departed continue to rest in peace. May their sacrifice strengthen our resolve to build a Nigeria where this tragedy will never be repeated.
A New Nigeria is POssible. A Nigeria where every life matters. -PO
Lagos-Calabar Highway: FG adamant on a Misplaced Priority.
Contrary to reason and the necessity for compassion in public policy, the federal government has commenced the controversial Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project.
"If I see any of you at Onitsha Head Bridge celebrating that you maintained a 1950s bridge for the South-East, Holy Ghost will kill you there. This country has no conscience. If you see the way the government is showing this bridge everywhere on the internet, you will think it is a newly constructed bridge, without knowing that it is a bridge built years ago. Imagine someone celebrating his car that he parked for over 50 years after repainting it."
~ Pastor Odumeje blasts government over Onitsha Head Bridge
Protecting Every Vote. Winning 2027. Together.
My fellow Nigerians at home and abroad,
Over the past months, wherever I go and in your many messages, two questions keep coming up: How will our votes be protected in 2027? And how will we win?
These are fair questions, and you deserve direct answers.
This Sunday, I will answer you directly, and more importantly, listen to you. I will join you for A New Nigeria Global Digital Townhall. We will speak plainly about protecting every vote and the path to victory.
But this is not only about speaking to you. It is about listening to you. I want to hear your concerns, your insights and your strategies. This movement has always been built by you, and your ideas will shape what we do next.

This brings back fond memories of our many road trips across Nigeria in 2022–23 —especially the night we spent sleeping in our cars at a fueling station in the forest outside Kaiama, Kwara State.
His Excellency Peter Obi and I are still agile and fully ready for the task ahead. Are you? - RMK
My interview with Peter Obi a few days ago on Arise Prime Time focused largely on the Obi-Soludo debt row.
At the heart of it was a World Bank facility. It was not a commercial bank loan. It was a world bank multilateral development credit, offered to selected states, with a federal government sovereign guarantee.
The terms are long-term, near-zero interest, tied to specific reforms, such as budget transparency, fiscal sustainability, education, etc.
The crucial distinction is between approved vs draw down. Peter Obi's position is that he agreed to it but did not draw down. He did not access it.
Technically, that can be true. The loan facility is approved and signed at the federal executive council/world bank level, and the state signs a subsidiary agreement. But money only enters the state's account when it meets disbursement conditions and requests drawdown.
Obi says he left the money untouched in the pipeline and that he left savings, not debt on the books.
The Soludo camp's position is that he signed off on it. Also true. And this is where the fight is. Soludo's team argues approval is commitment - once signed, Anambra was on the hook, and that's why it shows up in the Debt Management Office records as inherited liability.
Obi's supporters say his successor chose to draw it. Obi showed discipline by not touching it. Obi approved it and signed Anambra onto it, but says he never drew down a kobo - his successor did.
So where does it go from here? Will both sides publish the DMO statements and drawdown dates, and let the documents settle who signed what, when it was drawn, and what it was spent on?
And with 2027 politics already in the air, will this row give the Nigerian people a clear audit of what was met, what was left, and what they still owe? Or just more politics and a sabre-rattling war of words?
Yesterday, I spoke with ARISE News on the Anambra debt question and other issues affecting our nation.
In the interview, I clarified the facts surrounding the multilateral development funds accessed by Anambra State, the financial position I left behind in 2014, and the urgent need to focus on the hardships confronting Nigerians rather than on political distractions. I am Sharing this interview to correct factual details, clear all doubts, and put the issues in their proper perspective.

On the day I left office, I left more than US$150 million as the dollar component of my investment in Anambra State as governor. I hereby provide documents that can be verified with the various banks. Had it remained untouched, this investment was expected to provide Anambra State with approximately US$10 million in annual income.
Even if their assertion were accurate—which it is not—that Anambra owed US$123 million, the government could have used the US$10 million generated annually from my savings to reduce the debt. It has now been 13 years since I left office, which would amount to US$130 million. The debt should have been fully settled by now.
Had they retained the funds I left in the bank, including the compound interest on the principal and the additional income, the total would be approximately US$335 million today. If they had chosen to repay the US$92.35 million funding, the entire amount would have been covered, leaving approximately US$242 million to be reinvested. That sum would have generated about US$20 million annually for Anambra State.
Let me reiterate that, when I left office, I left Anambra State in a strong financial position—the strongest of any state in Nigeria—and I stand by that position.
Through this clarification, I wish to state categorically that I will neither engage nor trade words with anyone regarding my tenure in Anambra State. My focus will now be on issues affecting the suffering Nigerian masses, which is the reason for my presidential ambition.

You see how Peter Obi, in less than 24hrs, cleared the air, personally, not through his aides or spokesperson?
That’s how his presidency will look like.
We mustn’t sleep on Peter Obi’s presidency!
Nigeria must be OK!
For those who hate the "New Nigeria" mantra, the best way to stop Peter Obi from contesting is to find any evidence of corruption or misappropriation of public funds, as he promised to stop contesting.
Second, if you can get the alleged ID cards he issued to Northerners during his tenure, he promised to stop contesting and pay 2 million naira for each ID card produced.
Third, if you find any land issued to himself, his wife, or family members as governor, he will stop contesting.
Oya now, come and stop him. You think being this clean is easy in today's Nigeria?
Like him or hate him, Peter Obi is best by far among the contestants. With him, a New Nigeria is POssible ✌️ #PeterObiIsComing
My leader, always with the receipts.
The truth is once corruption is involved, count H.E. Peter Obi out.
He is a principled man through and through, and his record speaks for itself.
If there were credible evidence of corruption against him, the EFCC would have had every reason to investigate and prosecute.
Yet, till date, nothing, absolutely nothing has been established against him.
H.E Peter Obi stands on his record, his principles, and his integrity.
A leader Nigeria deserves.
I'm just finding out today that special funds like the ecology funds received by Anambra under Peter Obi's tenure, were not included in Peter Obi's N75 billion savings for the state.
He left them separately in different accounts for the state and only reported what he directly saved from allocations.
Na everyday we dey discover who Peter Obi is.
