One of my missions is to make Peripheral Neuropathies more understandable for non-experts. Recognizing that physicians often find PNs challenging, especially in the hospital setting, I collaborated with @MayoClinicNeuro Neuromuscular hospitalists, @ReeceHass and @SantilliAshley, and my former NM co-fellow #JMartinezThompson to develop an engaging infographic that simplifies how to approach neuropathies leading to hospitalization. The incredible artistic skills and creativity of @ReeceHass truly brought this project to life, exceeding all expectations. We hope you find this helpful. https://t.co/HjEJbfOkqh
Meningitis may sometimes be an early sign of meningoencephalitis or parenchymal disease, with lesions not yet visible due to radiologic delay. https://t.co/LNTq0NIio3 @EoinFlanagan14, @albertaboseif, @marignierro
Such an honor to be hosted by Vyanka and Lara on the @immunotea podcast ➡️ A perfect setting to review the diagnosis and treatment of #AutoimmuneEncephalitis 👇 https://t.co/BKzxtF2Mnm
Congratulations to the Mayo Clinic Adult Neurology Residency Class of 2029! We are so delighted to have you join our Mayo Clinic Family! #MayoNeuroResidency
Upper cervical spinal cord atrophy was more pronounced in people with #MultipleSclerosis being older, males or menopause females, suggesting associations between hormones and neurodegeneration.

Delighted to share Kwon & @NanthayaTisa et al study with our Korean colleagues led by Dr Sung-Min Kim ➡️ We found paraneoplastic #MOGAD is rare & tumors lacked MOG immunostaining making the mechanism of this infrequent association uncertain 👇https://t.co/N5iFQXVL20
Delighted to share @Lauz_Caccia et al #MOGAD epidemiology study:
➡️ 1st such population-based study in North America
➡️ Prevalence of 3.7/100K in Olmsted County & 2.61/100K in Martinique
➡️Trend towards increased incidence & recognition over time

Our first year fellow Dr. @Ellawliet94 Mughrabi leads our @MayoMN_IMRES residents in learning Infection Prevention and Control #IPAC principles in our IPAC-themed Escape Room!
We’re very excited about this upcoming clinical trial on PLEX for severe optic neuritis and transverse myelitis, and think it will have a similar impact to the landmark Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial!
Thrilled to share our @MayoClinicNeuro study comparing Somali Americans (SA), African Americans (AA), and White Americans (WA) with MS.
SA are younger at MS onset and have similar disease severity to WA; AA fare the worst (progress younger, more EDSS6+)

#MeetOurProgramDirector Dr. Coon (@EYemmCoon) excels both in and outside of the hospital. When she’s not leading in Neurology, she’s crushing triathlons and spending time with her family. Her achievements and balance are truly inspiring! #MayoNeuroResidency

Happy to share @Lauz_Caccia et al study of #MOGAD lesion changes during attacks: ➡️ 10% of attacks have an initial normal MRI (radiologic lag) ➡️ MRI more dynamic than in #MS or #NMOSD with T2-Lesions often appearing & sometimes resolving within attacks👇https://t.co/8ju2xF2y46
Check out this great case by Drs Syc-Mazurek & Zhao-Fleming @mayoneurores reporting #MOGAD with melanoma exacerbated by immune checkpoint inhibition ➡️ IL-6 blockade with tocilizumab worked perfectly for #MOGAD without reducing anti-tumor immune response👇https://t.co/XtthX4UQDp
Thanks to the @AANmember for the opportunity to present our work on “Frequency, Challenges, and Potential Etiologies of Increased Intracranial Pressure in MOGAD” at the #AANAM#AAN2024 🧠🧩 @chenmayo@EoinFlanagan14
