بعد 23 عامًا في سجون الاحتلال، احتفل الأسير المحرر والكاتب كميل أبو حنيش بعرض مؤلفاته في عدة معارض للكتب، في مشهد يعكس مثابرة الأسير الفلسطيني على التوعية ونشر الثقافة وكشف وجه الاحتلال واستعماره من داخل السجون، حيث ظلت كلماته وكتاباته حرة وتنتشر في العالم رغم قيود كاتبها.

خلال سنوات اعتقاله، أصدر أبو حنيش أكثر من 15 كتابًا إلى جانب عشرات الدراسات والمقالات.

وكان أبو حنيش، القادم من بلدة بيت دجن شرق نابلس، محكومًا بتسعة أحكام مؤبدة و 78 عاماً ، ويُعد أحد قادة الجبهة الشعبية، وأُطلق سراحه ضمن صفقة تبادل أسرى مع المقاومة. ويتواجد حاليًا في القاهرة، حيث يواصل نشاطه الثقافي والفكري.
