Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni recalls the moment, in 2011, when 6 African presidents, part of an African Union committee that was tasked to negotiate for truce in #Libya, were ordered to turn back by NATO in Nouakchott, Mauritania on their way to Tripoli, Libya.

This underscores the fundamental need for Africa to cast off the remaining neocolonial yokes that so immobilizes us. The Libyan crisis could have surely gone a different way were Africans not waylaid by the overbearing contempt by NATO.

I remember Museveni then called out the west’s insatiable appetite for oil in seeking to topple Gaddafi & who can forget the French president Sarkozy’s endless insistence on the end of Gaddafi? Did he pay back the Libyan state the loans he owed to President Gaddafi?

Wake up Africa! Nothing remotely good ever comes from the practitioners of pervasive oppression in the name of “democracy”.
