Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

WATCH: If we held a moment of silence for every victim of the Holocaust we would be silent for eleven and a half years.
On #Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jews who brutally murdered by the Nazi regime. To commemorate the Holocaust and its victims, we must speak out against Antisemitism now. In the face of darkness, be the light.

From which river to which sea? “Only 47% of the students who embrace the slogan were able to name the river & the sea. Some of the alternative answers were the Nile & the Euphrates, the Caribbean, the Dead Sea (which is a lake) & the Atlantic…. There’s no shame in being ignorant, unless one is screaming for the extermination of millions.”
The good news: students moderated or changed their views significantly once they looked at the map, learned which river & which sea, & what the slogan meant in practice. “Those who hope to encourage extremism depend on the political ignorance of their audiences. It is time for good teachers to join the fray and combat bias with education.”
