@mkrgm@Fl1pTheScr1pt@lacasse_andre@HWDSB Your comment about 100% of kids walking to school is completely false. There aren't even sidewalks at rural schools, and Rockton is on Hwy 8...an 80km/hr road!
@MukherjiSaurav @HWDSB Why is your point? Yes, all surrounding boards have cancelled buses, including Hamilton. That means schools must close, as Rockton, Millgrove, Flamborough, Balaclava, etc. have 100% of kids bussed in...
@Kharv5560@HWDSB It's because 100% of kids are bussed in with schools like Balaclava, Rockton, Flamborough, Millgrove, etc. That would mean those entire schools have the day off, while city/suburban schools would be open - which is an equity issue.
@MukherjiSaurav @HWDSB All surrounding boards have cancelled buses. The bus company for HWDSB also cancelled, which means schools must close as there are several schools where 100% of the kids are bussed in.
@mkuwabee@MelissaBr13@HWDSB@TheSpec@HWCDSB For schools like Balaclava, Flamborough, Rockton, Millgrove, etc, 100% of kids are bussed. That means these kids miss a day of school, while kids in cities/suburbs need to attend...? That would be an equity issue.
@LetsGoB10647498@HWDSB It snowed well into the night here in Flamborough, and the school parking lot at Balaclava has not even been plowed. Teachers wouldn't be able to park their cars and buses could not drop off the kids.
@MarkGesing@alluringstorms@HWDSB You cannot deny kids a day of learning while allowing other kids to attend school that day based on the weather conditions of their location. It would become an equity issue. Students should not have to suffer the consequences of where their parents chose to raise them.
