Honestly, is anyone surprised? Aliyev's entire rule is based upon authoritarian militarism towards Armenia. Even if Armenia gave them these villages tomorrow (which it won't- Azerbaijan also holds one de jure Armenian enclave), he would simply find something else.
Unfortunately, all those who perpetrated our genocide and drove us from our homes, were lucky enough to have settled on our land with an abundance of natural resources that the West now needs, eyes are turned to all the horrors from Turkey/Azerbaijan.
Therefore, we need to remain resilient and constantly reinvest in ourselves to ensure our future or else nobody else will do it for us.
We must do it ourselves, nobody will do it on our behalf.
We are a resilient people. But why do we have to be so resilient for 100+ years? The same people who still deny our genocide (that they perpetrated) are given free reign by global powers to orchestrate an expulsion that we all fear will lead to more conquest of Armenian land in the coming months. Turkey/Azerbaijan have a stated goal here: Armenian conquest.
They're not even trying to be diplomatic about it. Watch Azerbaijan press on to conquer even more Armenian land in the coming months. When will the world push back?
About 174 Armenian, Greek, and/or other Ottoman human remains are at the American Museum of Natural History, according to @artcrimeprof https://t.co/xQWt6MuN3V
After completely ethnically cleansing Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan is now openly speaking about invading Armenia proper. In other words, as The New York Times will report this soon, like it did last week, “Almost no one saw this coming.”
Left most of my belongings and luggage behind in Artsakh but i did make sure to bring this. This will be an artifact that Azerbaijan won’t be able to desecrate. Our history is etched in these stones — will make sure it’s preserved for the rest of time.
UN Mission Arrives In Artsakh To Access The “Situation” & “Determine Humanitarian Needs Of Residents” Only After Azerbaijan Ethnically Cleansed Over 100,000 Armenian Residents
Families are leaving behind everything but the clothes on their back. Children robbed of a childhood. The reality for thousands in Artsakh right now. It is the collective responsibility of every Armenian around the world to make sure our people are taken care of.
📍 Latest statement by @UN Under-Secretary-General & Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide @WairimuANderitu on the situation in #Armenia and #Azerbaijan, stressing importance of preventing further violence & ensuring durable peace in the region.

STOP SAYING IT'S OVER. It's not over. It's not over at all. It's not even close to being over. Not for us; not for our people; not for our nation.
It's our children who are missing. It's our grandparents who are being slaughtered. It's our fathers and brothers who are being tortured and killed. It's our mothers who are starving, sheltering, suffering, searching. It is our people being forcefully subjugated to the will of a #genocidal Azerbaijan--a state whose leaders call us "cancers", "tumors" and "dogs", a state that telegraphs to you all that it will exterminate--sorry, "integrate"--us.
You do not get to sign off. You do not get to throw your hands up and say you "tried". You do not get to say it will be better this way for Armenia, for the region. You do not get to say this will open new doors or a new future for the Armenians. No, you don't get to do that.
You will have to watch now. You will watch it all, every day, every hour, every minute of it. We will make you watch it. We will force you to watch it. This time, we will make you watch it happen in real time. Children and churches, languages and lives, families and freedoms -- all degraded, desecrated, demeaned, destroyed.
No, it's hardly "over" for our people. We know too well--and you do too--that it's just getting started . . . .
#Artsakh #NagornoKarabagh #Armenia #genocide
The situation now in Nagorno-Karabakh is very simple. Local authorities have surrendered, and Azerbaijan is in the process of carrying out mass ethnic cleansing of the 120,000 people there. Either speak up about it or shut the fuck up about human rights forever.
The mayor of Sar Aghpur village in Artsakh was able to rush all the children out during Azerbaijan’s shelling of the town. They all made it out alive, except one child who passed away — his own son. This is just one of the heartbreaking stories of this siege.
Massive crisis is currently unfolding here as over 50,000 people have been displaced in Artsakh. A humanitarian corridor is need now to save the lives of these people.
This is what ethnic cleansing looks like in 2023.
#Azerbaidjan forcing 120,000+ Armenians out of their ancestral land in #NagornoKarabakh after blockading them for 9 months with no access to the outside world and bombarding their houses and cities this week.
This week will have drastic consequences not only on the future of the region but also on the actions of dictatorial regimes globally, who now know that they can act without impunity.
Very sad week for humanity. And for #Armenians globally, a sad reminder of the #Genocide of 1915 that is repeating itself, but in a world where “never again” is repeated by many countries and international organizations each year.
There are many lessons to be learned by this.
But as Martin Luther King Jr. once said:
“In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”
