Anyone want to hang out (at work) with me? We have a couple open Distinguished Visiting Professor positions in CS and Data Science at the Naval Academy. Check it out!

I don't tweet much, but when I do, it's to post about our new tenure track position. This is a unique place that values both teaching and research, and gives you fun small sized classes to teach. I've been here 10 years, so it must be sort of good, right?

Attending my favorite conference virtually. Nicely laid out website and videos...but I find myself constantly wondering if I'm missing something at any given point in the day. #acl2020nlp
Hey #acl2020nlp! Very happy to share our work on Modeling Label Semantics for Predicting Emotional Reactions. If interested, checkout our talk and Q&A in sessions 8B and 10A
Talk - https://t.co/uanyHla0pE
Joint work with @in2uitive, Mohaddeseh Bastan, @b_niranjan, @NateChambers
Excited to share that our paper "Modeling Label Semantics for Predicting Emotional Reactions" has been accepted at #acl2020nlp 😀! Joint work with my amazing team - @b_niranjan, @NateChambers, @in2uitive and Mohaddeseh Bastan
#WNUT Best Paper #1: “Character-Based Models for Adversarial Phone Extraction: Preventing Human Sex Trafficking” by @NateChambers and a small army (navy?) of undergrads. Incorporates CNN to encode visual representations of Unicode characters. https://t.co/fc0FbYpDu2 #emnlp2019
My undergrads and I were awarded Best Paper at the Workshop on Noisy User-generated Text last month! We presented on image-based character models to extract phone numbers from adversarial text: https://t.co/WhBGRYqrB0
I left my research poster on the streets of New Orleans. It was gone an hour later. Somebody is now drinking, listening to the blues, and learning about the idiosyncrasies of neural networks+topic models.
Visited the SEC today to present my research on insights from social media text. The SEC has lots of interesting language problems, ripe for NLP techniques.
We have an open visiting professor position in my department that comes with funding (!!!). Academic and researcher friends: want to visit me or know anyone with an upcoming sabbatical?
#NLProc'ers in #AAAI2018, this talk on event representations is at 11:30 in Fulton today. On the offing: scalable method for learning predicate tensors, new hard similarity task+dataset, and neural event schemas. @NateChambers. https://t.co/s0IydeoXcY
