@KaitlynSchiess Well, I was raised in The Salvation Army, and was in ministry with them for 15 years. TSA practices zero sacraments. We left for a number of theological reasons, and God lead us to an Episcopal church - which has all the sacraments.
“Liturgy of the Ordinary” did it for me.
Some friends and I made a playlist of the 5 songs that best represent us. I put @kendricklamar's Alright in front of @kingskworld's Aimless Knight, and the transition is *amazing*.
It's so cool to see two songs that don't know each other compliment one another so well!
A few years ago, a pastor took me out to coffee to tell me about his church. He said two things that assured I would never attend.
The first. As I had been a pastor, I told him how hard it was for me to write sermons until I learned it was a way to love people. He disagreed. ➡️
@PastorTrey05 No, you definitely don’t need to. For sure. But *if* you did, I’d read it.
If you don’t write one, do you have some resources you could refer me to? I would love a deep dive on the above topics, specifically on the formation of COGiC/AoG. That line blew my mind 🤯
Talking about this right now on @670TheScore.
This is how some MLB teams are going to combat shift restrictions. Still daring lefty sluggers to go to the opposite field, while asking a LF/super utility guy to essentially be a 4th IF & demanding speed & range from a 3B.
Wild.
14 months ago I had to evacuate from Oxford High Schol when a fifteen year old opened fire and killed four of my classmates and injured seven more.
Tonight, I am sitting under my desk at Michigan State Univeristy, once again texting everyone “I love you”
When will this end?
The @EducationFL has given its reasoning for not allowing AP African-American studies to be taught in Florida. They [the Dept] believes topics like “the Black struggle” and “activism” is “indoctrinating” children. 😒
Please know that “anti-wokeness” is actually anti-Blackness.
@PastorTrey05 This is good stuff, Trey. One of the best things I ever did for my faith was examine my relationship to, and understanding of, the Scriptures.
In seminary, I took a class from an adjunct prof, and early on was struggling with working full time and keeping up, so I asked for an extension. Dude was so rudely inflexible.
The sad thing was…
this semester i tried a radical thing where i made every single deadline flexible for my college writing students. every single one! no "i almost died" note required. the policy is that if they aren't going to meet the deadline, they just propose an alternate one. i bet this...
