@EsotericCD Not a fan of Deion as a human but he's probably the best cover corner ever to play the game. As others have said, the stats are deceiving because he was so good they never threw his way. He did have a tendency to sometimes hold back on or avoid intensely physical plays, though.
@neontaster There is no conceivable cage strong or efficient enough to completely stop the bird. No matter what cage you put on there, you're still getting bird parts in that engine.
@bendreyfuss There's a bustling industry of buying and fixing up trailer homes you live in for a profit in CA. Mostly immigrants. It's a pathway into traditional homeowning if you keep trading up. Most of the younger generation whining about homeowning would never consider such a thing.
@bendreyfuss The things the whistleblowers were telling people was mainly stuff that's been an aviation industry-wide issue for a while. The bean counters hate QA because they hate their ability to unilaterally raise costs and blow up schedules so they gutted them.
@JimMuessig@redsteeze I like how his username has "real" in it just in case you might have mistaken him for that other Scott Ritter who wasn't a pedophile.
@feelsdesperate You're correct but the whole COVID supply shock thing made working on cars much more expensive as well. You'll be surprised when you have to get that used car seriously worked on. Obviously still cheaper but not as much as you would think.
@mattyglesias Another interesting facet of that whole fiasco was prominent D politicians flirting with vaccine hesitancy when it was coded to Trump and then about-facing and going all-in on them once he lost the election. That whole era was so dumb and reactionary.
@ASFleischman He's bad but really this is the view of current-time egocentrism. Nothing done recently really approaches the damage done by the post-civil war reconstruction presidencies.
@yishan@ESYudkowsky The entire premise of seeking AI to think in place for humans is flawed, anyway. Having access to more data doesn't necessarily make someone or something a better critical thinker. Most problems humans grapple with are complex and shifting.
@ASFleischman Every party's love for the country waxes and wanes depending on how many levers of power they conceive their operatives to be holding so spare us the bullshit.
@ASFleischman@JiffjoffI Serious question, though: What's to stop Biden from handing out amnesty in his second term if he gets one? Why do you discount it so easily? He's already shown willingness to do unpopular and likely illegal sweeping actions like the loan forgiveness.
@redsteeze What's going to happen is that they will change the rules to benefit and protect plagiarists in any positions of influence. They will then also make it harder for people to access and compare works who aren't current academics.
@mattyglesias The goal was never to get a replacement, it was to get people holding influential positions in major institutions to throw away their values in the name of political tribalism in a very visible and disturbing way.
