@ruamused@Roxy1831@nick_coatsworth It just proves that laboratory results don't always generalise. Practical results disprove theory. Victoria had some of the toughest lockdowns in the world. The virus spread anyway. Pretending lockdowns work when you can see the results in practice is just cognitive dissonance
@RestArchATL @jtfdenver @kskating@DeAngelisCorey you don't think people would open private schools to make a profit if parents have vouchers they can use at any school they want? You believe only governments would educate non white kids?
@kskating @jtfdenver @DeAngelisCorey I don't understand her logic at all. No other area of life would good people actively advocate preventing future generations of poor and underprivileged people accessing resources which could actively improve their life because it's not available immediately.
@SamHLevey@BobMurphyEcon@D_Kuehn Your explanation is illogical. If price rises are a result of greed, logically a greedy person would raise prices less than competitors, gain market share and profits. Competition is a driver of markets, ESPECIALLY in times of high inflation where customers are price sensitive
Of 195 countries in the world, Australia is number 1 for uranium reserves, number 3 for coal, and in the top ten for gas production.
An energy crisis is such a ridiculous situation, we now find ourselves in.
@Ro_Smith Please report current rates for 2022 with the crime rates till june 2021 to give an accurate picture of the current situation. The way you have used statistics is very misleading in my opinion
@Ro_Smith The statistics you reported for 2021 were probably an outlier due to lockdowns during 2021. Long term trend in the table show crime rates rising steadily. 1/2
@JohnAda2dollar@Surgeon_General These people don't care about your rights. They care about their rights. It's perfectly legitimate, in their opinion, to force u to do whatever they want if it gets the results they want. You need to learn the reality of how ppl use government and how little they consider you.
@sharifmatar@nickgillespie I'm mandated to wear a mask all day at work, lived over 300 days in lockdowns where it was illegal to leave the house except to buy groceries within 5km of your house. Fines for taking learner driver kids for a driving lesson, going for a surf or eating lunch in the park
@awn915@brucebarket@RBReich 🤷who decides what's necessary. prices naturally go up when demand increases at a higher rate than supply. This prevents shortages. Why have a central bank who's primary goal is to control inflation if you expect businesses to set artificially low prices to prevent inflation
@awn915@brucebarket@RBReich this is not a valid explanation. if demand returned to pre COVID levels then it would not be inflationary. pre COVID prices would be normal. money printing during times of decreased production created inflation
@awn915@brucebarket@RBReich if the inflation is high in part due to corporate greed, and not entirely due to the fed reserve then why did corporations only suddenly become greedy?
@brucebarket@awn915@RBReich 🤷I rarely engage. Mostly just read but when I see a grifter like Reich trying to blame businesses for what is an obvious systemic problem it's hard not to push back. Reich is a professional economist and knows low price inflation is one of the Federal Reserve policy mandates.
