Honoured to share that I have been promoted to Head of GTx Client Solutions | Wholesale Banking Group | Contracting at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the largest bank in the UAE.

This global leadership role will see me work with a talented team to drive strategy and deliver innovative Global Treasury, Trade and Tokenisation (GTx) solutions for the Contracting sector, combining global and commercial oversight with client engagement and cross-border connectivity.

The Contracting sector plays a vital role in the UAE’s growth, shaping the nation’s landscape through Civil, Infrastructure, and Oil & Gas projects that power its position as a global energy leader.

Grateful to Sanjay Sethi and Jose Payno for the trust and confidence they have shown in me.

I am committed to supporting our clients in this dynamic and strategic industry, enabling them to build, innovate and contribute to the UAE’s next chapter of progress, while extending that impact globally.

The best view comes from the hardest climb!

During a recent trip to America, I hiked Stone Mountain in Georgia. What looked daunting from the base became a journey through mindset shifts.

Every challenge, whether it is a new role, a big project, or a bold next step, takes us through four powerful stages of growth.

1) Can I do it? 💭
The stage of doubt. Fear and hesitation are natural here.

🔹 What to do: Ask questions. Seek guidance. Remember that uncertainty is not weakness; it is awareness. Growth begins the moment you admit what you do not yet know.

2) I think I can do it 🌱
The stage of belief. You start to see possibilities instead of problems.

🔹 What to do: Surround yourself with encouragers. Visualise success. Celebrate small wins; each one fuels the next step.

3) I’m doing it ⚙️
The stage of action. You are in motion, learning as you go.

🔹 What to do: Focus on progress, not perfection. Learn fast, adjust quickly, and stay consistent even when results take time.

4) I did it! 🏁
The stage of reflection. You have overcome what once intimidated you.

🔹 What to do: Pause to acknowledge how far you have come. Capture what you have learned; it will strengthen your confidence for whatever comes next.

2019 was one of the toughest years of my life. It was also the year that I had the privilege of meeting @CEOofHappYness at the @Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. That moment helped to reawaken a sense of belief, resilience, and purpose that I had lost.

For many, it was a chance to get a book signed. For me, it was far more than an encounter with the man behind The Pursuit of Happyness. It was a powerful example of how you can continue to hold on to the power of dreaming and convert adversity into fuel for growth.

Chris shared his story and these two lines still echo in my mind today.

• “Become world class in whatever you do.”

• “Want to make the team, go to the gym. Want to own the team, go to the library.”

That encounter reignited my determination to rise above difficulty and to pursue excellence with complete intention. It continues to shape my journey to be one of the best British bankers in the UAE, driven by a commitment to serve, inspire, and lead with purpose.

For anyone unfamiliar, Chris’s story was brought to life on screen by Will Smith in the film The Pursuit of Happyness. It remains a powerful testament to the idea that our dreams are always worth fighting for.

From its towering skylines to its thriving business landscape, this country has continuously pushed the boundaries of what is possible.

This year, I was honoured to be granted a UAE Golden Visa, a privilege that reflects the country’s commitment to attracting and nurturing global talent. Living and working here has been an inspiring journey, surrounded by a culture that values excellence, celebrates diversity and champions sustainability.
