Trump's election fraud claims spread distrust before midterms, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds https://t.co/PY57kvPsXj
"People are responding to them, particularly Republicans, because they're listening to the leaders that they trust, and it's creating this vulnerability in people to believe lies about the election," @kellyrader of @statesunited said in an interview.
Tables turn as Republicans face gas-price attacks they once used on Democrats https://t.co/iT9T42jrGR
A dispatch from MI-7, where a Republican incumbent who once rode voter anger over Biden‑era gas prices is now on the defensive. Democrats see a path to flipping this super competitive seat, pressing the Iran war and a renewed spike in fuel costs as fresh lines of attack.
A Trump pledge is falling flat as Ohio musical instrument plant closes - https://t.co/nFefANs8ql
The failed effort to save the plant underscores the limited political power of blue‑collar workers core to Trump’s base, even when their demands echo his “America First” agenda.
Robert Mueller was among our most distinguished public servants. This is a man who asked to be returned to his job as an unglamorous line prosecutor, after having been promoted to higher levels, because he missed the day-to-day task of keeping the streets safe from crime and trying cases. He arrived at FBI as Director days before 9/11 and did not miss a beat, refocusing the FBI on counterterrorism and keeping the country safe from terror 24/7 for years, no doubt at great personal cost. The job of FBI Director in wartime, when performed ably, is deadly serious and exhausting. I disagreed with his decision to move from the firm that was defending Paul Manafort to be Manafort’s prosecutor, though he was technically permitted to do so. And I disagreed strongly with some decisions he made as Special Counsel. But I never doubted his patriotism, his devotion to the rule of law and public service, and his personal character and valor. Semper Fi.
