Information should be free, the more readily accessible and factual journalism available the less misinformation and bigotry spreads

@FinancialTimes Currency is practically digital already, after the end of the Bretton Woods system and the movement away from gold standards and billionaires borrowing money that doesn’t exist to invest.
The global economy is just 1’s and 0’s on a screen already
@Jaa4v@janfrank123@BBCBreakfast The irony that you think cutting off Russian supplies is the sole cause of inflation yet calling me inept?
Despite food inflation being caused by a lack of seasonal workers and supermarkets unwilling to pay extra and the fact the UK used less than 5% Russian gas.
But sure. Me.
@Jaa4v@janfrank123@BBCBreakfast Because, unlike my statement, you said the reason for high cost of living was choosing war over diplomacy and our involvement in the war.
Which is simply not true
The Ukraine war has had an effect by raising wholesale gas prices. These prices are kept high by the government
@Jaa4v@janfrank123@BBCBreakfast You said “cost of living crisis” which isn’t solely the energy crisis.
Furthermore, i already stated the UK has its own law regarding energy, where it sets it to wholesale gas prices which were massively disrupted by the war.
Which the UK did not start.
You have no argument
@freethinker1411@BBCBreaking If they invest it in green energy they pay little to no tax, but due to stupid UK energy rules they charge gas prices for ‘free’ green energy thus making tax free profits.
They always find a way
@Jaa4v@janfrank123@BBCBreakfast Nothing you said there was true.
The Ukraine war had an effect yes, but only because it interfered with European gas lines after Russia’s invasion.
The UK has a stupid law that regulates all energy by international Gas prices.
The rest is Brexit and tory corruption
@Blister57892544@Plaid_Cymru@LSRPlaid Well considering brexit has had a direct impact on inflation plus the cost and availability of food and far more, it has definitely made a difference to your life, though you do not wish to admit it.
Opinion isn’t fact mate, remember that.
@Blister57892544@Plaid_Cymru@LSRPlaid Didn’t say we did 😂 but you said the situation was un-democratic
But what you’re really saying is, it’s un democratic if it doesn’t support what you want
There are many calling for another referendum, if we had one the process would be, by definition democratic
@Blister57892544@Plaid_Cymru@LSRPlaid How is it ignoring democracy 😂 the UK voted, we left the EU, the vote was in 2016, and the act in 2023
If we were to have another referendum and re-join the single market (which current figures show would happen) it would literally be democratic 😂
@7puzzle Doesn’t England have bigger things to worry about than trying to change the names of towns in different countries.
I’d argue Worcestershire, Ruislip, Gloucester, Holborn, and Chiswick are far harder to pronounce given they sound nothing like the spelling.
Pot-kettle-black
@Laceybod@AndrewRTDavies He’s not an MP he’s a member of the Senedd but didn’t actually win his seat, he was given it for free by the D’hondt system to “balance out”
So here, we have an unelected individual with a public platform being allowed to post constant lies and misinformation
The UK everyone
@criticalpr0blem@zakjm7@AndrewRTDavies “aware, especially of social problems such as racism and inequality”- Cambridge Dictionary 2023
The right wing have co-opted the term as a buzzword to label anything they disagree with usually things that contradict their traditionally conservative views. Being woke = good
@rainertec@NationCymru Welsh speakers earn on average 10% more than those who speak just English.
If people live/plan to live in Wales they are likely to be paid more and have better job prospects if they know Welsh.
An estimated 206 in the UK speak Spanish, while 883k speak Welsh.
Welsh=more valuable
