Such a great time attending some amazing and thought-provoking talks, and presenting my poster on a pilot project integrating the Mindfulness Coach app with a virtual Mindfulness group in Primary Care at the DC VAMC! Looking forward to Day 2 of #SDMH2023
@AlexandraLong@KatieKarlsgodt@RamaduraiRamya I'm just a conduit that clarifies to the world that Miranda is a great writer but the worst part of Hamilton, the "choose your own flavor" machines are a step backwards because they're usually broken, Eve 6 killed grunge (I'm more 90s-era), and QR code posters are an abomination
#PrideMonth Laura Jane Grace sends this reminder to both right and left not to get caught in rigid views of self-determination:
With freedom as the doctrine
Guess who was the new authority?
Narrow visions of autonomy
You want me to surrender my identity

Encountered this on Succession finale day. Turns out the whole series was mostly product placement for this powerful hand soap company/multinational right-wing media and entertainment conglomerate! But did they have to use so many cuss words?
On April 1, 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives passed, by a vote of 414-0, House Resolution 1005, which supports the month of May as Borderline Personality Disorder Awareness Month. Join Emotions Matter this month in promoting BPD recovery. https://t.co/Zcps2yLkYu.
I was honored to receive the 2023 Outstanding Teaching in a Full-time Appointment Award from AU. The feeling was that of being a conduit through which the many great teachers I benefitted from (including my Mom, the English teacher) could reach a new generation of learners!
@DrNicoleLorenzo Interesting findings! Was there any evidence that Spanish-speaking vs. English-speaking therapists engaged in different behaviors with clients that might influence the differences in parents' use of don't skills?
Masters thesis defended 💛
I could not have done this without my mom and sister, who have always been by my side even when I’m miles away from home. I am also forever grateful to @NathanielRHerr and my IE labfamily that made this journey not only possible, but precious as well!
We made a new #DBT video! The great Jesse Finkelstein and I, in collaboration with TheraHive, have created an 8-min video on chain analysis. Hope you like it! Please share. https://t.co/CnqudMKihZ
Today I defended my masters thesis and PASSED ‼️✅ Running an in-person experimental study during COVID was no joke. Wouldn’t have been able to do it without the support of my mentor @NathanielRHerr and labmates @AlexandraLong@kellyvklein27@danaepapadea Ella & Macy. So grateful
My takeaway: "I think that as clinicians we shouldn’t underestimate [our clients with BPD's] ability to perceive emotions in others and probably move away from the mentality that they might be projecting negative emotions that aren’t there."
It was great to have a chance to talk to about work Evelyn Meier Lynch and I published a couple years ago.
