I’ve updated my dev blog with an article about character classes and builds in my game, Valantis, let me know what you think :)

I put together a Devlog for my game Valantis. The first one is a walkthrough of the item/loot generation system I’ve built for the game. Check it out: https://t.co/qgO2QCS17I

Another #UtilityAI resource. Here's a fantastic GameAI Pro Article by Mike Lewis from Arena net on the little details of getting a Utility system working well. This is the stuff that is left out of most resources but is most of what you're doing day to day

Hey, for anyone interested in Utility AI, GMTK just released a great video last week on the AI in the Sims. And as a bonus, Rez Graham, the AI designer for the sims is in the comments answering questions and making corrections on things. Great resource!

Inventory UI is functional!
Lots of edge cases to consider with an inventory. What do you do with invalid attempts to move things? Deleting items? What if you overfill your inventory some how? What if one of your upgrade slots gets removed and there's an item in it?
@BarelyAGS Been working on an inventory system/UI. There's a lot of detail work that goes into capturing all the edge cases an inventory might run across.
WIP on an the Equipment system/screen for the game:
All items are handled as upgrades of some kind or another for your ability loadout. Some of them will be more general character-wide effects, but you have to make space for them on your ability upgrades to keep them active.
im finally done moving and that's 100% the reason why i haven't uploaded and not my anxiety. 👀
gonna try to post updates more often, so I'm starting with some work I did on the post processing and testing some environment art for my 3d platformer

Balancing abilities/skills makes me think I should have paid more attention in math class... 😅 ⚔️⚖️🔥
Anyone have some good tools/techniques they use for balancing?
Anyone else have major trouble procrastinating when it comes to creating content in your game? Making a new system? I'll get on that right away. Making content for that system.... eeehhhh
Behind the scenes, these are all parameterized descriptions, so they'll auto update when abilities are balanced, or when your character has modifiers.
Here's an example of the Tidal Wave description in the editor before it all gets filled in:
In the midst of a long set of bug fixes, so I haven't had much to show, but I did update Ability tooltips to give more information! Here they are on the character creation screen. These appear in game on hover as well.
