We deliver electricity and gas to families and businesses in the states we call home. If you suspect a gas leak or have an electric emergency contact us or 911.
Last week, more than 1,000 students joined this year's GLOW With Your Hands event in Batavia, NY, to explore STEM careers and get a firsthand look at opportunities in the skilled trades and technical fields. Through hands-on experiences and conversations with professionals from several companies, including ours, students learned about the skills, tools and education required to pursue a variety of careers.

On Hunger Action Day, our team joined the Greater Boston Food Bank as part of our Week of Service, helping pack grocery bags for seniors across the region. Together, we handled more than 8,000 pounds of food and helped make 6,960 meals possible.
We also partnered with the Greater Boston Food Bank to share multilingual information about gas meter changes, helping connect customers with important resources.
Thank you for having us, and thank you to the Greater Boston Food Bank for all you do to support our communities every day. 💙@Gr8BosFoodBank
Sometimes the best career advice is simply seeing the job for yourself.
More than 1,000 students from 24 schools across New York joined us in Albany for our Career Pathway Expo, where they connected with employees from more than 20 National Grid departments, explored hands-on demonstrations, and learned about the many careers that help power our communities.
From engineering and operations to technology and emergency response, students had the opportunity to see firsthand how different skills and interests can lead to meaningful careers in the energy industry.
A special thank you to the more than 100 employee volunteers who shared their time, experiences, and expertise to help inspire the next generation of talent.
@AlecBrookKrasny You're welcome and thank you to everyone who joined us this weekend! We're grateful to the Brooklyn Public Library for helping bring hands-on STEM experiences to local students and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators 🔬🧑🔬
@CMDMCarr@BioBus@BKLYNlibrary Thanks for joining us! We're excited to support programs that spark curiosity, inspire learning, and connect young people with the world of science. 🔍
Last week, we joined @BrGround to celebrate the opening of Sutphin Senior Residence in Jamaica, Queens, a new affordable and supportive housing development that will provide 173 homes for local seniors. Through our Cinderella Grant program, we helped bring this project to life.🏠💙
As part of our Week of Service, dozens of employees rolled up their sleeves today to support a local farm that's helping feed Long Island. At Crossroads Farm in Malverne, 30 volunteers spent the day harvesting fresh vegetables and planting crops for the fall season.
The organic community farm supplies produce to local restaurants and healthcare facilities while also providing educational programs for the community. We were there as volunteers helped strengthen a homegrown effort to bring fresh, local food to Long Island families.
When schools use less energy, they can focus more resources where they belong: on students and educators.
Through our partnership with @MassSave, we're helping schools across Massachusetts lower energy use, improve comfort, and make every energy dollar go further. So far in 2026, we've supported energy upgrades at 55 schools across the state.
One example is @QuincyPS’ Lincoln Hancock Elementary School, where a pool heat pump project, building management system, and LED lighting upgrades are helping save more than $64,000 annually in electric utility costs, while improving efficiency and supporting the school’s long-term energy goals.

When severe weather hits, technology can make a big difference.
During this weekend's storm, FLISR (Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration) automatically restored power to more than 12,000 customers in less than a minute. By automatically isolating outages and rerouting power around damaged equipment when possible, FLISR helps restore service faster and reduce the impact of outages.
While crews worked to repair storm damage, this technology helped keep the lights on for thousands of customers across Massachusetts.
FLISR is one example of how investments in the delivery portion of customers' bills help support grid modernization, improve reliability, and strengthen the electric system against increasingly severe weather. Learn more about FLISR: https://t.co/cWttzg3kOg

A big thank you to @Syracuse1848 and mayor Sharon Owens for joining us during our Day of Service and for the kind words.
When our employees step away from their usual roles to volunteer across the community, it's another way we show up for the people and neighborhoods we serve. Whether it's restoring energy, supporting local organizations, or lending a hand where it's needed most, we're committed to being part of the communities we call home. 💙

Using a generator during an outage?
Never operate a generator indoors, in a garage, basement, or near windows and doors. Generators can produce carbon monoxide, an odorless gas that can be deadly.
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and place generators in a well-ventilated outdoor location.
