Founder of lululemon on what he'd tell every 25 year old:
"I'd tell them that every person in the world is an individual with a different genetic makeup and a different upbringing and the way that you're thinking is so radically different than every other person in the world and incomparable that if you have an idea and you want to move forward with it, don't worry so much about the competition because nobody will be able to replicate you and the way you think about it."
@ThePatriotOasis So the in-person votes that require you to give your name, address and date of birth as a cross reference disadvantage Karen Bass?
Interesting.
Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
Rick Rubin’s House on the Mountain test:
Create according to your own taste, not for applause, critics, algorithms, or market demand.
“Imagine going to live on a mountaintop by yourself, forever. You build a home that no one will ever visit. Still, you invest the time and effort to shape the space in which you’ll spend your days. The wood, the plates, the pillows—all magnificent. Curated to your taste.”
“This is the essence of great art. We create our art so we may inhabit it ourselves.”
“I'm willing to go to extremes to make the thing that I want to inhabit and it's not for anyone else. it's just for me.”
Scott’s has no sound for the first five or so explosions. In mine I have those lined up because that’s when the gas is exploding open the container. The big explosion is just the gas igniting outside of the container, which would produce less sound. Similar to the difference between in sound between firing a bullet and lighting a pile of gunpowder. One makes a pop. The other doesn’t.
