why did Korea decide to nuclearize when it did? Because it was made clear that they were on the list to be imminently destroyed. In 2002 Bush declared the "Axis of Evil" of "sponsors of terrorism", meaning those who dare resist Zionist Israeli-US-NATO hegemony: North Korea, Iran and Iraq. He actually began with the DPRK. John Bolton who was in the Bush regime added Syria, Libya and Venezuela to it. And they already had the Clean Break memo that Wesley Clark saw which also includes Afghanistan, Sudan and Somalia.

Out of all of these states and nations that had been told explicitly that they were on the list to be destroyed imminently, the only one that did not follow the path of disarming, dismantling any WMD program they had, trying to reconcile with the Israeli-US-NATO empire and engaging in "strategic patience", was the DPRK.

Imagine if instead of having nuclearized and ensured the safety of their people and nation, they instead did what Iran did. They built nuclear reactors and began enriching but only far below the threshold to get a nuke so they could use it as part of a deal with the Zionist death cult empire.

Then they would go up by some percentages. And increase it a little more. A tactic to get a deal. You don't want use to get the nuke right? So make a deal. Remove the murderous economic terror war you're waging against us, what your media class euphemistically launders as "sanctions", and we'll stop building the nuke. Look, we have even signed the NPT and allowed IAEA inspectors to be in all our sites!

the US empire's genocidal war on Korea killed millions, their firebombing of cities caused much greater destruction than of the German and Japanese during WW2. Then they built their largest military base in their Southern fascist colonial proxy. Their obsessive project was always to utterly destroy the liberated DPRK and bring it back under US hegemony by any means necessary.

But they were unable to, even before they had acquired nuclear weapons in 2006. Why? Because they feared them. They saw them as extreme, irrational, crazed even. If we dare launch an attack on them, they will destroy the entire South. They will wipe out the entire South with their artillery and missiles without even blinking.

Just a single attack on the DPRK, and it is over.

So they never dared launch a war against them before they were nuclearized, and then when they did nuclearize in 2006 it was over. The project of collapsing the Korean state and destroying its people through a genocidal war was over.

They still have their military base, but it is impotent. The DPRK has total and complete deterrence.

Every country on earth that liberates itself from the Israeli-US-NATO Zionist empire's clutches must learn this essential lesson.
