I just discovered this channel: (https://t.co/zcATjr0QvH...?si=wBuAQQ3GvSAaRRbd) HUMAN read audiobooks on YouTube. Many are classic children's books. My kids love audiobooks at bedtime, so I wanted to share.
“The home environment can undo a lot you try to do at school. That’s why we’ve lowered the kindergarten age year after year until now we’re almost snatching them from the cradle.”—Fahrenheit 451

Dear Politician, this was a cautionary tale not an instruction manual.
When kids leave traditional school, they have to go through a deschooling process.
Deschooling = unlearning all the bad habits you picked up in school.
Some of the biggest habits kids need to unlearn:
"Your homeschooled kids need socialization."
"They have 5 siblings and 17 cousins they hang out with a lot."
"Not like that."
"We go to church twice a week and they talk with all sorts of people."
"Not like that."
"They do intramural sports and play with all sorts of other kids."
"Not like that."
"There are lots of kids in the neighborhood and at the local park they interact with."
"Not like that."
"Our homeschool co-op meets once per week, with parents rotating as teachers."
"No like that."
"Ok. So...what do you mean by socialization then?"
"You need to send them away every single day to sit with children their own age for 6 hours. And let me teach them with no supervision from you."
"Oh. No thanks."
Homeschooling Wildflowers is a book I would recommend to parents considering homeschooling or who have just started out homeschooling.

Veteran homeschoolers have probably already discovered on their own much of what is covered in this book, but it could still be a refreshing reminder. I would definitely pass this book on to a new homeschooler.

I love sharing about homeschooling, but I’m not trying to be an influencer. I certainly don’t have time to engagement farm. If you don’t want to miss anything, the best thing to do is subscribe to my blog. Also, subscribers get $2.00 off my mother-daughter fantasy. #homeschool
@erikphoel These types of children often benefit from the one-on-one instruction provided by homeschooling, and parents aren’t going at it alone, but today have many resources to draw upon.
@erikphoel These are parents actively trying to meet their kid’s needs. It raises the number of homeschoolers who are “behind,” but they were already behind in public schools. Kids with autism, adhd, dyslexia etc.
